Nap of the day generic

There is lots of quality racing in store on Sunday with day two of the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown and the Scottish Cheltenham Trials Meeting at Musselburgh. They are joined by all-weather fare from Lingfield, with a total of 22 races across the three venues.

Our Sunday Nap of the Day is fancied to bring down the curtain on what could well be another hugely successful DRF Weekend for champion trainer Willie Mullins.

Willie Mullins won all eight Grade 1 races at the Dublin Racing Festival last season and the Closutton powerhouse will be eyeing another sizable haul this time around.

He has Ballyburn, Gaelic Warrior and Lossiemouth as odds-on favourites on Sunday, with stablemates like Impaire Et Passe, El Fabiolo and State Man opposing them.

It could be the Mullins show at Leopardstown, but picking apart his contenders in some of the early races is no easy challenge.

Instead, it may pay to wait for the concluding Grade 2 Coolmore N.H. Sires Luxembourg Irish EBF Mares I.N.H. Flat Race to side with FUTURE PROSPECT as the Sunday NAP.

The Order Of St George mare runs for the second time under Rules. She won her sole start in point-to-points last March before being sold for £150,000 at the Tattersalls Sales in Cheltenham.

She went to the champion trainer and lined up for the first time in a bumper at Fairyhouse (2m½f, yielding) in mid-December.

Patrick Mullins made good use of her, leading from flagfall and racing in advance of the field. She was a bit headstrong rounding the bend after passing the winning post first time around, giving Mullins' arms a workout, but otherwise it was a polished performance.

The field got to her hind quarters on the home bend but once Mullins called on Future Prospect for effort, she surged clear in a matter of strides, readily going away from the field to win well.

She should have learned plenty from that experience and is likely to take a lead in this grade which should enable her to settle better.

Eight of her 10 rivals have won bumpers already. This is a decent Grade 2 but the turn of foot shown by Future Prospect at Fairyhouse when briefly called on was eye-catching.

She is already as short as 10/1 for the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham next month and can stamp her passport for the Cotswolds by landing the final race at the Dublin Racing Festival.
