Nap of the Day: Best Adventure worth waiting for

There are a whopping eight meetings taking place across Britain and Ireland on Saturday, with both Flat and jumps action, and highlighted by the Group 1 Eclipse card at Sandown. That gives us plenty to ponder, and there are a grand total of 55 races to look over.
I’ve got you covered, however, and have picked out my strongest fancy on the day for you to consider. The horse in question is trained by Andrew Balding and returned to winning ways at Sandown last time out. A follow-up success looks to be on the cards for the progressive performer. Check out my Nap of the Day for Saturday, July 5, below.
Nap of the Day - Saturday, July 5

BEST ADVENTURE was an impressive winner of the 0-80 three-year-old handicap over a mile and a quarter at Sandown 22 days ago, and the progressive performer looks set to follow up over course and distance in their concluding act on Eclipse day.
The Class 2 handicap is for horses rated 0-105, and Andrew Balding’s charge faces a stiffer test than when dominating in Esher 22 days ago.
However, the three-year-old was seriously impressive when travelling well to draw clear and score readily last time out, and the time of that effort also stacks up well.
Best Adventure was bumped up six pounds in the handicap for that comfortable victory, but a mark of 87 still be on the lenient side for a horse who appears to be moving in the right direction after only nine career starts.
Balding’s charge gets into Saturday’s contest off a featherweight of 8st 2lb, and while there are classy rivals such as Charlie Appleby’s Arabian Light in opposition, that 105-rated horse will be giving Best Adventure two stone at Sandown.
The three-year-old son of Frankel has previously scored well on good-to-firm ground at Newmarket, and there are no concerns about Best Adventure handling fast conditions at Sandown.
The 650,000 gns yearling is certainly bred to be better than a mark of 87, he is 2-2 over Saturday’s trip, and he appeals as a horse who could rate higher.
Everything is in place for a big run for Best Adventure, and the 3/1 on offer looks to hold plenty of value.
