Nap of the Day: Lucinda to deliver the goods again

We were in the winners' enclosure on Friday courtesy of Lucinda Russell's Myretown - and I'm making another one of the Scottish trainer's string the Nap of the Day for Saturday.
Nap of the Day - Saturday, February 15
- 15:50 Haydock - Derryhassen Paddy @ 7/4
I became an instant fan of DERRYHASSEN PADDY after his victory at Windsor last month and I'm backing Lucinda Russell's six-year-old to follow up in the G2 Albert Bartlett Prestige Novices' Hurdle at Haydock on Saturday.
The unbeaten son of Arctic Cosmos, who's won a PTP, bumper, maiden hurdle and novice hurdle in four starts, is a strapping chaser in the making, but he proved in Berkshire that he can achieve plenty over the smaller obstacles in the meantime.
He beat Dan Skelton's Listed-winning mare Honky Tonk Highway, who had rivals rated 125 and 129 trailing by over eight lengths, by a nose, having done all the donkey work in front and been headed multiple times.
I loved the way he put his head down, pricked his ears and refused to lie down, when it would have been very easy to do so. It appears he possesses the attitude to match his evident ability.
The form of his previous win at Uttoxeter is not to be sniffed at either. The third-placed Lud'or, rated 120, finished runner-up to a top prospect subsequently before getting off the mark in no uncertain terms, while the reopposing Roaring Conquest - fourth in Staffordshire - bolted up by nine-and-a-half lengths on his next outing.
This Grade 2 contest has reportedly been the plan for Derryhassen Paddy ever since Windsor and it looks the perfect next step. I can see him loving Haydock and it's long, galloping straight.
Moon Rocket was just touched off in the River Don at Doncaster exactly three weeks ago and is the selection's main rival in the betting - while Kepler's Law was seriously impressive last time out and can't be ruled out. His previous form leaves plenty to be desired, though.
I expect Derryhassen Paddy to confirm form with Roaring Conquest, but he isn't without a chance. Nor is Battle Born Lad, though his 126-day layoff is off-putting. The four at the foot of the market are hard to advise in my book.
If it wasn't already obvious, I've got high hopes for this horse. He's advised at 7/4, but I couldn't put anyone off taking SP. Russell's horses, exactly like Myretown on Friday, are often friendless in the market and it's rarely a reflection of their imminent performance.
