NAP of the Day: Fibonacci Sequence can take Thirsk prize

Plenty of racing action is coming up on Monday with five meetings across the UK and Ireland, including the annual meeting on the beach at Laytown as well as Flat cards from Windsor, Thirsk and Kempton (AW) and the jumps fare at Worcester.
Our NAP of the day for Monday comes from Thirsk where George Scott's lightly-raced filly Fibonacci Sequence looks well placed to bag a prize on what is her turf bow.
NAP of the Day - Monday, September 16
- 16:50 Thirsk - Fibonacci Sequence @ 9/4
George Scott and Callum Rodriguez are very much a duo in form currently and they can combine for more success with FIBONACCI SEQUENCE at Thirsk.
Scott's string are operating at a 23 percent strike-rate of late, while Rodriguez is at 21 percent after steering 12 of his last 58 mounts home in front.
The jockey has also proved a good one to follow this season at Thirsk, as he arrives into this meeting just one behind Danny Tudhope as the leading rider at the Yorkshire venue in 2024.
All of which adds to the appeal of the twice-raced Fibonacci Sequence as the Gleneagles filly makes her handicap/turf bow in the mile Fillies' handicap that is the penultimate race on the card.
She ran well on debut at Wolverhampton over 7f in July on the Tapeta, beaten by just over three lengths into fourth spot as she split subsequent winners.
She also scored herself in one outing since. That came in a Chelmsford novice upped to a mile and she needed every yard of the trip to win under Callum Shepherd.
That points to further improvement on this switch to turf, while the half-mile run-in at Thirsk should allow her plenty of time to exert her dominance on this contest. She has less miles on the clock than these opponents and an opening mark of 68 is workable.
David O'Meara's consistent Waldgeist filly Lokana should give another good account, while Style Of Life has every chance of having a say for Harriot Bethell from her current mark. They form the main threats to the selection.
Having got her head in front last time on the speedy Chelmsford track, Fibonacci Sequence is taken to improve again on this turf switch and make it back-to-back successes with the in-form Rodriguez getting the leg over for the first time here.
