Nap of the Day: Wolverhampton sprinter could get our week off to a flyer

Right - let's get the apology out of the way. Yesterday's nap was tipped up at about 13/8, drifted alarmingly out to 11/2, and after running promisingly and prominently for all but the vital final last couple of furlongs, folded tamely to finish a remote sixth. Red face time, but sport's not an exact science. Ask Pep Guardiola.
For our first best bet of the week let's return to the all-weather haven of Wolverhampton - if it's good enough for Rossa Ryan on Monday, November 11 it's definitely good enough for me. Here then is my Nap Of The Day, which runs in the 18:15 at Wolverhampton.
Nap Of The Day - Monday, November 11
- 18:15 Wolverhampton - Sisters In The Sky @ 2/1
18:15 Wolverhampton - Sisters In The Sky @ 2/1
The aforementioned Rossa Ryan, who this season seems to have won just about everything bar the Boat Race, has been booked for this five-year-old Showcasing gelding, and he has ridden him on several occasions previously.
The horse must be tough as he's been very busy this year, running for the most part with consistency and credit at this lowly level. Last time 11 days ago at Bath on the turf he finished very well after being outpaced, and that was over a furlong less than today's 6f trip.
Just three runs ago at that very same venue he won a heavy-ground handicap off 50, again at 5f, but on a sound Wolves surface, and given the look and feel of his last outing, six could be just what he needs whilst evidently in great heart.
He's off 55 today, but it's worth remembering that in the early part of his career he lined up for a York nursery off 81 - and he was only beaten 2l in a field of 20.
For probably 18 months and more now I've been watching closely when Ryan has been booked, and it's fair to say that's highlighted a bagful of winners. He's quite brilliant, horses of all classes, and at all kinds of trip, run beautifully for him, and he's so often in the right place to strike.
He maximises all his opportunities for me, and given his age he can get even better.
It's a tiddly little Class 6 with eight scheduled to face the starter, but it's fascinating nevertheless. Sisters In The Sky is drawn in the two box, but in such a relatively small field that shouldn't be a massive factor. I expect Rossa to bury him away before coming with a wet sail in the short straight.
The horse has ability, nothing like that which he once possessed, but he's in good order, knows how to win, and the engagement of the mighty RR is for me a significant element.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
