Nap of the Day: Jim looks to land us a nap three-timer

We're only on a Nap Of the Day hat-trick again! Last week we also rattled in two in succession but were ultimately pipped in our quest - can we now make it three on the spin on Friday?
Thursday's hero won nicely at Leopardstown, advised 11/10, returned 11/8 (I'd mentioned it might reach that kind of price - wonderful when a plan comes together for once!) With a 7/2 advice making all on Wednesday, it's potentially three-timer time and our July 26 flyer is running at ... Ascot, in the 15:35. Here we go then. Destiny beckons.
15:35 Ascot - Mutaawid @ 2/1
For our Nap Of The Day hat-trick bid I'm going unashamedly for one of my favourite jockeys and one of our strongest in my book, in every respect. Power, judgement, experience.
Jim Crowley isn't the Shadwell number one for nothing, and he exudes a certain gravitas for me when clad in those legendary Nashwan silks. Such a case in point arises on Friday afternoon at Ascot, with a good-looking 1m 4f Class 2 handicap worth £20k+ to the winner.
Mutaawid is a gloriously-bred three-year-old Frankel colt out of a Dubawi mare. Didn't run at two, and has had four spins so far this term. Three decent efforts at around eight and 10f; then wow.
Stepping up to a mile-and-a-half at Kempton 16 days ago he turned in a display touching several different levels, powering clear to win a novice heat by 6l. Probably didn't beat much, but the manner of the victory was hugely impressive.
He makes his handicap debut then in fairly rarefied Class 2 air, but looks so worth it looking at last time's effort. He's in the golden hands of the Gosdens, and has a Betfred St Leger entry.
This is a big step up but now the penny's dropped this one could really begin to make his mark.
