Nap of the Day: 13/8 Casa can bring home the hat-trick

No joy - from myself at least - for Nap of the Day followers so far this week, but I've got high hopes about Friday's selection who bids for a quickfire hat-trick following a recent revival.
Nap of the Day - Friday, February 21
- 15:40 Warwick - Casa Loupi @ 13/8
Gary & Josh Moore's form has picked up dramatically in recent weeks, which has coincided with something of a revival from CASA LOUPI.
The eight-year-old son of Casamento was rated as high as 133 as a juvenile in the spring of 2021, but he lost his way over the following three years.
He failed to win a single one of seven races between October that year and March 2024, recording form figures of 63P40F3 and dropping 26lbs to a mark of 107.
For whatever reason, he's got a new-found enthusiasm for the game of late, bolting up by seven lengths over the minimum trip at Sandown late last month before an equally-impressive success off just three pounds higher over course and distance last week.
He's due to go up a further eight pounds but is allowed to race at Warwick on Friday off an unchanged 110 - essentially 103 factoring in Rob Hargreaves' very useful seven-pound claim - which gives him every chance of landing the hat-trick.
He also steps up to 2m3f, which should suit. He won over 1m4f on the Flat and the way he powered up the Sandown hill in testing conditions the last twice suggests as much.
I loved the manner of his victory the last day. Having made all, it looked as if he was starting to get reeled in approaching two out, but after being hampered on the landing side he found another gear and put good distance between himself and the runner-up.
If the quick turnaround isn’t an issue, which I’m hopeful about as he’s coped with it in the past, he ought to be very hard to beat, albeit against tougher opposition.
The betting suggests Ben Pauling’s Lanesborough is the main danger. The six-year-old son of Diamond Boy has appreciated tackling handicaps the last twice, but ultimately he’s gone up seven pounds for two defeats. When you consider the selection is just three pounds higher for two wide-margin victories, that’s very harsh.
The likes of Tommie Gun and Either Or and some of the other seven hopefuls are certainly capable of doing the business at this level, but they all need to improve on their most recent efforts.
If Casa Loupi is in the same form, none of that should matter anyway. He could easily have upwards of 10lbs on the handicapper and I’ll be disappointed if he’s beat here.
