Mr Incredible Grand National Odds 2024: Another Mullins win contender?

Willie Mullins has plenty of options heading into the 2024 Grand National but his biggest wildcard may well be Mr Incredible, who should be considered a win contender following a very impressive performance in this race a year ago.

If you were only looking at the result and nothing else from the big race in 2023, you’d see that Mr Incredible unseated jockey Brian Hayes and think very little more of it. The truth was a leather broke, causing the saddle to slip, and that gave his rider very little option apart from letting gravity do its thing and down he went.

Up until that point, though, this horse looked like one of the freshest still in the field and all results were firmly on the table.

A year on and we’ve hardly seen Mr Incredible on track but the Mullins family have been keeping him firmly under wraps, with Patrick Mullins looking after this one. It was at Uttoxeter that we saw this eight-year-old break cover, and despite only finishing second to Beauport in the Midlands Grand National, he showed more than enough that the stamina is there as he still looked good coming home.

The biggest question mark is whether or not his jockey can keep him focused. All the tools are there to win the Grand National. Down at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival we saw him finish third in the Kim Muir, but even though he stayed on, he seemed to be wandering around the track somewhat.

This is clearly a talented horse and if you’ve pulled him in the office pool, you certainly have some hope that you’ll be the one walking into work with a broad smile on your face come Monday morning.
