This eight-year-old fell when leading the WellChild National Hunt Challenge Cup Amateur Jockeys' Novices' Chase at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival as a 13/2 shot with two fences to go whilst four lengths clear. That would be the only occasion in the whole of the campaign when this horse didn’t finish at least in the top three positions, including a win over at Navan where he beat the talented Tenzing.

Backing Mahler Mission to win the Grand National will come with a sense of blind faith that he’s in good form. Not seeing him race since 2023 has to be a bit of a concern but it could mean that he’s fresh and ready for what could be the greatest day of his young career.
