Ludlow Tips: Expect walk in the park for Porter

Big fields aren’t the order of the day for Ludlow’s seven-race jumps card on Wednesday afternoon, but there still look to be a trio of tasty wagers.
Porter In The Park is a perfect two wins from two runs at Ludlow and Henry Hardwicke believes that Emma Lavelle’s charge can score in Shropshire for a third time.

14:35 - Sergeant Fury @ 1/1
SERGEANT FURY has won three of his last four starts and the five-year-old has been well placed to strike.
Harry Derham’s charge has been sent off a Evs, 5/6, Evs and 2/1 on his last four starts and the impressive trainer looks to have found another excellent opportunity in the two-mile handicap hurdle at 14:35.
Sergeant Fury was only narrowly denied a four-timer at Newton Abbot 48 days ago, which suggests the five-year-old is on a winning mark and Derham’s hope takes a drop in grade at Ludlow.
King Of The Road has plenty to prove in opposition, Kingston Sunflower hasn’t run over hurdles for 702 days and the remaining rivals look outclassed.

16:08 - Porter In The Park @ 4/1
PORTER IN THE PARK is defending an unbeaten record at Ludlow in the mares’ handicap hurdle at 16:08 and Emma Lavelle’s runner can make it a third course success.
The latest of those Shropshire wins came off a mark of 118 in March and the eight-year-old goes to post off the same rating on Wednesday afternoon.
Porter In The Park hasn’t achieved much since her last victory, but she has been set some pretty tough tasks and the eight-year-old is back down in grade at Ludlow.
Lavelle’s hope has been freshened up off an 81-day break and she looks ready to strike at the scene of two previous successes.

16:40 - Chestnut Pete @ 10/3
The novices’ handicap chase over two and a half miles at 16:40 can go to CHESTNUT PETE.
Katy Price’s charge was beaten by prolific winner Centara at Hereford last time out, but that was probably too sharp a test against a seriously well-handicapped rival.
The ten-year-old had previously scored off a mark of 96 at Hereford in March and that rates as strong form.
Iskar d'Airy, who finished second behind Chestnut Pete, has gone on to win twice and is now rated 111 over fences, while third placed Pooroldmackley scored on his next start at Newton Abbot.
Price’s charge dropped three pounds to 103 following his last run and there should be scope for him off that rating.
