Lucky 15 Tips: Jet set to take off at Hereford

There are six meetings across Britain and Ireland Tuesday, with three afternoon cards followed by a trio of evening cards.
There’s a good mix of both Flat and Jumps throughout the day, with afternoon action from Bath, Beverley and Hereford before the attention switches to the evening meetings from Killarney, Lingfield and Sligo. Below are my Lucky 15 selections for the day’s action.
Lucky 15 Tips - 12 May 2026
- 14:30 Beverley – Lovers Leap @ 1/3
- 14:50 Bath – Hidden Verse @ 5/1
- 16:45 Hereford – Ice Jet @ 5/6
- 17:05 Killarney – Alphonsus Liguori @ 1/1

14:30 Beverley – Lovers Leap @ 1/3
With Ralph Beckett’s Food For Thought declared a non-runner, this looks an excellent opportunity for the race-fit LOVERS LEAP to open her account.
The daughter of Lope De Vega has shown gradual improvement in each of her three starts to date, running to Racing Post Ratings of 63, 65 and 68, the latter figure achieved when finishing third in first-time cheekpieces over a furlong further here last month.
Officially rated 71, she sets the clear standard and is impossible to oppose under Silvestre De Sousa, who has partnered nine winners from his 38 rides over the past fortnight.
14:50 Bath – Hidden Verse @ 5/1
Dr Richard Newland and Jamie Insole have been quieter than they would have liked in recent weeks, but they hold strong claims in this “confirmed handicap” with HIDDEN VERSE.
The selection can struggle a bit with consistency, but this track tends to bring out the best in him, as he showed when scoring by a wide margin over course and distance a little over a year ago.
He’s now 9lb higher, but he’s only 3lb above his subsequent Chepstow success and should make a bold bid under Jack Doughty, who shows a handsome level stakes profit of £40.50 when riding for this yard.
16:45 Hereford – Ice Jet @ 5/6
A jump meeting rarely goes by these days without Dan Skelton getting on the scoresheet and it’ll likely take a good one to beat ICE JET at Hereford.
The four-year-old showed ability on the Flat, mostly over middle distances, but has taken time to acclimatise to life over hurdles, achieving little in his first three starts for this yard.
However, given wind surgery ahead of his handicap debut at Wetherby, he showed major improvement and would very likely have won but for a significant mistake at the second-last.
He’s up 7lb but is unexposed and his stable have won the last two runnings of this race.
17:05 Killarney – Alphonsus Liguori @ 1/1
The Joseph O’Brien-trained ALPHONSUS LIGUOURI looks set to go one better than on last month’s racecourse debut.
The three-year-old colt, who cost £210,000 as a yearling, was second of 15 over a mile at Gowran on soft ground, finding only his vastly more experienced stablemate Perisher a neck too good.
The winner franked that form with a stylish victory at Naas over the weekend.
If all four selections won, at the quoted prices, a 50p Lucky 15 (total stake £7.50) would return around £68.92.
