Lucky 15 Tips: All eyes on Friendly Soul’s return at Haydock on Saturday

Racing fans are spoilt for choice on Saturday as there are eight meetings taking place across the UK and Ireland. With a nice blend of jumps and flat action there's something for everyone.
I've cast my eye over the races heading our way at Goodwood, Haydock, York and Curragh to formulate my Lucky 15 Tips, which you can check out below.

13:25 Goodwood - Startled @ 5/1
Three wins from his last four starts makes STARTLED an attractive prospect at Goodwood on Saturday. The three-year-old gelding is gunning for a hat-trick having recently prevailed at Newmarket and York. Those successes came over 7f, the same distance he will contest at Goodwood.
The son of Bated Breath is continuing to show improvements so trainer Richard Hughes and connections should be optimistic about his chances here.
13:45 Haydock - Friendly Soul @ 3/1
You have to go back to October 2024 for the last time we saw FRIENDLY SOUL in action, so there will be plenty of eyes on her long-awaited return at Haydock. This Group 1 winner won five of her first six starts before injury setbacks halted her momentum.
The five-year-old filly has gone through a long road of recovery and trainers John & Thady Gosden will be hoping it won't take long for the daughter of Kingman to get back up to speed.
After a long time away, it would be fitting for Friendly Soul to mark her return in style. With Oisin Murphy aboard on Saturday, I think it could be a real possibility.
14:40 York - Fortification @ 13/2
FORTIFICATION got off to a winning start on his first appearance for Brian Ellison's yard at York on 15 May. He was a 40/1 price that day.
He returns to this track for a C&D appearance on Saturday, seeking to go back-to-back for the first time in his career. The three-year-old gelding is well-travelled over 5f so he returns to YO23 with strong claims.
15:40 Curragh - Gstaad @ 4/9
Aidan O'Brien-trained GSTAAD is bidding to record his fourth career victory on Saturday when he contests the Irish 2,000 Guineas at Curragh. This promising three-year-old colt has not finished outside the top two across his seven starts to date, so he is going to have a target on his back here.
O'Brien and connections were left disappointed as Bow Echo pipped Gstaad by over two lengths to win the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier this month. Given Gstaad's record to date, I believe he will be in the thick of the action here.
I think O'Brien will have learned from the events at Newmarket to have his star prepped for victory this time around.
