Lucky 15 Tips: More Sandown celebrations on Saturday for Team Skelton?

It's the official end of jumping for the season today, Champion Sean Bowen will be rightly lauded, and it seems appropriate to gather our Lucky 15 tips from the Esher venue.

First contest is at 13:13, a time I could never have envisaged writing if pondering the thought back in the olden days, and it's a fabulous eight-race celebration. Here goes!

13:13 - La Luna Artista @ 11/10

Only one reservation about Jane Williams' talented four-year-old French-bred filly - the 12st she's got to lump around this afternoon.

However - La Luna Artista has earned that steadier courtesy of three wins from four appearances since debuting last October, and on this advertised very decent ground she'll find life far easier than on soft or worse, especially up that punishing final climb to the line.

She won her bumper on good-to-firm ('pushed out'), and when last seen put 13l between herself and her vain pursuers in a G2 at Kempton 63 days ago, for a purse of £46k.

She's smart, and surely has a big future. Enters the world of handicaps off 125, and I'm hoping she's eminently capable of handling it all.

16:40 - Palamon @ 3/1

Team Skelton have had a season for the ages. Champion trainer (Dan) by a street, and brother Harry holding the reins for so many of those memorable successes.

Hard to imagine they won't feature on the scoreboard today and I'm certainly hoping that will be the case - with their Palamon another I fancy to do the business.

This is a six-year-old gelded son of Irish Champion Stakes winner Decorated Knight. Three wins from 34 starts isn't mind-blowing, but the run before last at Bangor (31 March) was an eye-opener.

On good ground (similar is on the cards today) he dotted up off 111 for a career-best, but when highly-tried next time in an Aintree G3 on good-to-soft under a 5lb penalty, he struggled.

These waters are a good deal calmer (the Aintree winner is now rated 139), and at six surely the horse has any amount of potential improvement in him, off 121.

Fascinating affair, with Henderson and Nicholls in particular fielding likely dangers.
