15:05 Royal Ascot - Kalpana @ 9/4
Jan Brueghel arrives having finished second in the Coronation Cup at Epsom a fortnight ago and the Ballydoyle inmate may find KALPANA too good now.
Andrew Balding's mare is a dual Group 1 scorer at this track and she fended off re-opposing West Wind Blows when conceding 4lb on her comeback at Newbury last month. She'll come on for that outing and holds Jan Brueghel on last summer's King George run over C&D.
15:40 Royal Ascot - Satono Reve @ 4/1
An international feel with contenders from Australia and Japan atop the betting. Joliestar bids to become the latest winner of this Group 1 from Down Under, but last year's second SATONO REVE is a huge threat.
The Noriyuki Hori-trained star has looked as good as ever since, mixing it with superstar Ka Ying Rising on home soil, and has Ryan Moore in the plate here. He can become the first-ever Japanese-trained winner at Royal Ascot.
16:33 Down Royal - Bay Of Stars @ 9/2
The Ulster Derby is the feature at Down Royal, with €60,000 for the winner, and Aidan O'Brien's New Zealand has top weight. He may do well to lump lead to nine rivals, including BAY OF STARS for Dermot Weld in the Juddmonte silks.
The New Bay colt won a Dundalk maiden over this trip on seasonal return/second start in April and had a poor run off the home bend when second on handicap debut last month behind improving Darius Dark from Johnny Murtagh's team.
First-time cheekpieces are added here and while put up 3lb in the ratings for that defeat, he's very lightly raced and open to plenty of progress now, with the extra distance also in his favour as he was running on strongly at Leopardstown in the home straight.
18:55 Doncaster - Mighty Vega @ 9/1
MIGHTY VEGA had a busy spring on the all-weather, including a 7f Lingfield success in March, before producing a personal-best back on turf at the Surrey venue last month.
That 7f success came on good ground and he went up 3lb for a better race at Chepstow a fortnight ago. There he ran into an improver from the William Haggas team and rider Christian Howarth accepted his fate quickly in taking third spot.
The soft ground was perhaps a factor too and, back on a sound surface, this three-year-old can defy an unchanged mark of 75 with his rider taking a handy 3lb off.
A 50p Lucky 15 on these selections at the quoted prices would return around £911 for a total £7.50 stake if all were first past the post.
