Lucky 15 Tips: Fine chances to score at Chelmsford on Thursday

Thursday's Lucky 15 tips are coming from Chelmsford; and their all-weather seven-race card on the Polytrack that kicks in at 17:00.
Callum Shepherd is a jockey I've a lot of time for and though he's not struck gold for a wee while he's got two nice rides in his book tonight; for Dave Simcock, and Charlie Johnston. Enjoy!
Lucky 15 tips - Thursday, February 26
Chelmsford
- 17:30 - Epictetus @ 3/1
- 19:00 - Flicka's Girl @ 3/1
- 19:30 - Arantes Nascimento @ 4/1
- 20:00 - Silkies Sib @ 7/4
*Odds correct as of the time of publication
17:30 - Epictetus @ 3/1
This is a lowly seller, and one who looks quite nicely treated by the race conditions is Jamie Osborne's six-year-old Kingman gelding Epictetus.
He's officially rated 81 and carries 9st 4lb, the same weight for example as rival City Of God, who is rated 3lb inferior. The only entrant rated higher (83) than the selection is Cristo, representing the Hannon yard, and he's carrying 9st 9lb; more than he would in relation to our selection if it were a mere run of the mill handicap.
Jason Watson takes the mount, having ridden a nice winner for Andrew Balding at Wolves on Monday, and this mile trip should suit better than recent forays over slightly further.
Looks like a great opportunity, and as the horse often looks to make all, being drawn in the one box is a definite plus.
19:00 - Flicka's Girl @ 3/1
A classified stakes race now over 6f, and another who, narrowly, emerges well given the race conditions.
Flicka's Girl is a four-year-old Sergei Prokofiev filly who has three wins from 28 starts thus far. Michael Attwater trains, at Epsom, and regular pilot Paddy Bradley has the riding assignment.
Four runs ago, here at Chelmsford at this trip, the selection won a similar heat to this by half-a-length when rated 49. Two decent runs have followed in handicaps off 51, at 5f, and returning here on a mark of 50 looks sure to run to very nearly that or beyond.
I'm not sure how many of her rivals can be similarly relied upon and her recent consistency, together with what looks a very workable weight in the context of this (all carry 9st 9lb), makes recommending her very straightforward.
19:30 - Arantes Nascimento @ 4/1
Ah - memories of the late, great footballer Pele; full name Edson Arantes do Nascimento. The greatest player ever to put on a pair of boots for many.
The equine version is a five-year-old gelded son of a G1-winning miler and out of a mare by the similarly talented Excelebration, who twice got to within 4l of the near-incomparable Frankel.
Arantes Nascimento has just one win from 21 starts, but is arguably in just about career-high order as evidenced when last seen, 38 days ago at Wolves, finishing a neck down at this 7f trip and grade.
The mighty Sean Levey has been on board the last twice (second both times), and off the same mark, 72, as Wolverhampton quite frankly looks like a winner waiting to happen.
Nap material for me, and another trained by Michael Attwater (same ownership group as Flicka's Girl, namely Dare To Dream Racing).
20:00 - Silkies Sib @ 7/4
A 10f handicap to close, and a selection trained by James Owen at HQ.
Silkies Sib is a six-year-old Coati Glory gelding with three wins from 28 all told; and he gets red-hot apprentice of the moment Ashley Lewis on top, who is operating at the faintly ridiculous rate of 46% over the previous 14 days!
The horse's form figures over the last five runs reads 13322, the last of those a runner-up effort at Wolves 9 days ago under today's pilot. He gets to race off the same mark, 55, and Ash once again claims the 5lb.
Can't help feeling that's here's another with an awful lot going for him tonight.
If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £280 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon our selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
