Lucky 15 Tips: Sixmilebridge to come out on top at Fairyhouse

Easter weekend is providing us with treats aplenty on both sides of the Irish Sea and there’s a good mix of Flat and National Hunt action on offer across the four days. Sunday is set to be a busy one, with six meetings taking place across Britain and Ireland.
Fairyhouse provides the highest-quality entertainment and their excellent card features two Grade 1 races, including the WillowWarm Gold Cup. Cork, Plumpton and Market Rasen host National Hunt fixtures, whilst they also race on the Flat at Bath and Southwell. With so much racing on offer, it’ll be a good idea to pick your battles and our expert has provided four selections to consider for my Lucky 15 tips. These include a British-trained raider in one of Fairyhouse’s Grade 1s.

14:40 Fairyhouse – Leader d’Allier @ 4/5
There were high expectations for LEADER D’ALLIER in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle last month but he was withdrawn before the race. He was a smart bumper horse in his native France and managed to win five times in that sphere, including a Group 3.
Second to the useful Ballyfad on his stable debut at Leopardstown, he left that run well behind him when winning impressively at Punchestown in January. There seems little doubt that he’s a graded performer and this looks like an excellent opportunity to prove it.
15:50 Fairyhouse – Oldschool Outlaw @ 7/4
OLDSCHOOL OUTLAW has been a revelation since joining Gordon Elliott and she was an impressive winner of a Listed bumper on her stable debut.
She then inflicted a first career defeat on Cheltenham and Punchestown Champion Bumper winner Bambino Fever in a maiden hurdle at Naas.
Going on to win a Grade 3 in good style after that, she just lacked the pace required to catch White Noise in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last time out. This mare should appreciate 2m4f on that evidence and looks like the one to beat.
16:25 Fairyhouse – Birdie Or Bust @ 8/1
Henry de Bromhead’s BIRDIE OR BUST hasn’t raced since October and she should be nice and refreshed after a lengthy break. She won a novice chase at Listowel in September and jumped well on the whole, despite one mistake at the fourth.
The eight-year-old then contested a Grade 3 novice chase over an extended 2m2f and kept on well to finish second, after being headed on the run-in. Third at the Cheltenham Festival as a novice hurdler, she looks very well treated with a chase mark of 132.
17:00 Fairyhouse – Sixmilebridge @ 10/3
Fergal O’Brien has swerved Cheltenham in order to run SIXMILEBRIDGE over his preferred trip of 2m4f and that move could pay dividends. Unbeaten in three starts over fences, he won a Class 2 at Cheltenham with plenty in hand in December.
He then contested the Grade 1 Scilly Isles Novices' Chase at Sandown and successfully made all the running that day. Brown Advisory winner Kitzbuhel unshipped Paul Townend early on but the smart mare Kala Conti was second and the form looks rock-solid.
If all four selections won, at the quoted prices, a 50p Lucky 15 (total stake £7.50) would return around £279.50.
