Lucky 15 Tips: Red-hot Rossa to continue in similar vein

Lovely seven-race card at Southwell on the Tapeta stands out on Thursday, and that's where we're headed for our Lucky 15 tips.
First race is at 17:10 - see you there!
Lucky 15 tips - Thursday, April 2
Southwell
*Odds correct as of the time of publication
17:10 - Zeriya @ 1/1
Jockey Shane Foley has this one ride on the card, for rampant trainer Andrew Balding (30% strike-rate over the last 14 days).
Zeriya is an unraced three-year-old Too Darn Hot filly who is virtually certain to know her job this afternoon. Shane usually plies his trade very successfully in Ireland but I'm assuming has a connection to owners Forz Europe Ltd, as he's ridden their Kingman three-year-old Crown Relic before too, who is in the hands of George Boughey in Newmarket.
Some smashing yards oppose but this one might be good enough first time up, fingers crossed. Fascinating heat.
19:18 - Espanita @ 11/10
Another three-year-old filly now, but with rather more to go on form-wise. Charlie Johnston's daughter of Phoenix Of Spain - Espanita.
She lines up here for start number three having been second on debut at Kempton in mid-February, and then winning a maiden with a degree of comfort at Wolves 30 days ago.
Both runs were at this 7f trip, which should suit as she's by an Irish 2000 Guineas winner. Sure she'll get further in time; certainly a mile at any rate.
Over this track where you really do have to dig deep to get home that will doubtless stand her in very good stead.
Callum Shepherd was on top last time and maintains the partnership this evening. This opening handicap mark of 70 doesn't look excessive and she's taken to continue on her upward trajectory.
19:48 - Rogue Justice @ 10/3
The great Rossa Ryan, showcasing his brilliant skills of late (13 winners from his last 41 rides as this meeting commenced), partners this four-year-old gelded son of a Coventry Stakes flyer out of a Kodiac mare.
Bred to be super-speedy then, and here he is in a ... 2m-and-change basement handicap! Jack Jones trains Rogue Justice, and when last seen on the level in late-January he won nicely at Chelmsford at this distance, under the outstanding Hector Crouch.
He gets Ryan tonight plus a 4lb penalty, and in the interim he's contested a juvenile hurdle at Newbury (34 days ago), beaten out of sight in very decent company.
This return to the flat should see him back in a favourable light and he couldn't want for a better pilot to be doing the steering.
20:18 - Solanna @ 5/2
When this John Butler-trained seven-year-old gelding thrillingly won literally in the dying strides at Kempton 15 days ago I wrote in the following day's column that it was as a result of the most brilliant ride.
It's that man again - Rossa Ryan - who was responsible, and he's in the plate once more for this 1m 3f handicap. It was so tight last time that Solanna has only been raised 2lb for this, same grade/trip, and with the accent more firmly on staying power here than the speed of Kempton, the horse encouragingly showed that day tremendous tenacity to make the required late gains.
This is I believe his first visit to Southwell, but with an enviable overall record of nine wins from 51 career starts he can take advantage of being in-form, and having the irrepressible RR in the saddle, to make it win number ten.
If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £118 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon our selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
