Lucky 15 tips with alan firkins

A fabulous three winners for our Lucky 15 feature yesterday - those successes advised at 6/5, 3/1, and 2/1. Lovely little return on our investment.

We've reached the midweek point, and for our Lucky 15 tips on Wednesday, November 6 we're heading to a smashing NINE-race card at Kempton Park, on their Polytrack all-weather surface. Some huge names in our sport are present in Sunbury-on Thames, and the action kicks in at 14:18.

Lucky 15 Tips, Wednesday

Kempton

  • 16:00 - Tasdeed @ 4/6
  • 16:30 - Spirit Lead Me @ 6/4
  • 17:00 - Happy Hadeda @ 3/1
  • 18:00 - First Company @ 3/1

Today's Horse Races

16:00 - Tasdeed @ 4/6

Ace apprentice Sean D Bowen takes the mount for Upper Lambourn trainer Paul Attwater.

Tasdeed is a three-year-old Wootton Bassett gelding with just two runs behind him. First up, a maiden win at Newcastle in September at 7f, then upon joining Attwater soon after from the yard of Dominic Ffrench Davis he ran well here, beaten just under 4l, at this one mile distance.

He's conceding a winner's penalty in this novice stakes heat, but I'm hopeful that he's got the ability to do just that. He showed good progression between runs one and two, and there's every reason to hope for a further step forward today, with Sean offsetting at least 3lb of that hike.

16:30 - Spirit Lead Me @ 6/4

Richard Hughes trains, and the excellent Finley Marsh is in the plate.

Two-year-olds now, and Spirit Lead Me has run on six occasions, winning the last two (including one here) very comfortably. The handicapper has reacted, for after taking a Wolverhampton nursery 12 days ago off a mark of 65, the colt now runs off 79.

The penny certainly seems to have dropped of late, and though of course we're heavily in career-best territory if this successful run is to be maintained, I'm hoping another Kempton victory is on the cards.

17:00 - Happy Hadeda @ 3/1

A 7f Class 4 handicap, and we're represented by a three-year-old Invincible Spirit filly trained by Hughie Morrison at East Ilsley.

In-form Hector Crouch is doing the steering, and Happy Hadeda took one of these here 47 days ago off a mark of 82. She stays in the grade and has been raised just 3lb, which is perhaps fortunate.

That win was achieved off the back of a 322 day-break, so she's got every right to either bounce (feel the effects and underperform) or improve again on what was easily a career-best (I'm definitely in the latter camp).

Decent draw from the six box, and she can pick 'em off late.

18:00 - First Company @ 3/1

Always a pleasure to side with Billy the Kid (Loughnane), and this one's a family affair as he's riding for Dad David.

First Company is a seasoned sprint handicapper at a modest level, and the six-year-old's turn looks to be close at hand. Three weeks ago on this track in a similar race he finished second, beaten just over a length.

That was off a mark of 60, and he's up to 62 today - the same as when taking one of these at the turn of the year, under this jockey. These wily old handicappers win in their turn and First Company has plenty to recommend him.

If you're playing take care, have fun as always, and good luck.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £115 for your total £7.50 stake.
