Lucky 15 Tips: Hot Listed heat can go to Zoustar filly

As I write, the sun is streaming through the window. It's not quite shorts 'n T-shirt stuff just yet but it seems we're getting there - ish! Wednesday's Lucky 15 tips come from an eight-race extravaganza at leafy Lingfield, boasting a cast list that includes Oisin Murphy, Billy Loughnane and Tom Marquand, among other hugely talented jocks.

It all commences with the 13:40 and a lovely afternoon is most definitely in prospect on, and perhaps even off, the track.

13:40 - Green Team @ 15/8

An apprentice race is first up, and I reckon we're on just about the top talent in the field.

Warren Fentiman is attracting some very positive press this term and has 14 winners since the turn of the year, including successes within the last few days. He's on board Green Team, for trainer Ian Williams; a noted handler of staying types.

The six-year-old Wootton Bassett gelding was a good second in slightly loftier company 35 days ago at this trip and returns to action off the same mark, 65. He's not won since his two-year-old days with Owen Burrows and he's probably been badly handicapped since soon after that novice stakes win at Ayr.

He's slipped to this mark now from the lofty peaks of yesteryear (was once as high as 95) and is evidently very competitive at it. Over to you, Warren.

14:42 - Lightening Mann @ 11/8

Trainer Jack Channon is in sensational form (four of his last five have won), and he goes to battle here with a three-year-old Kameko gelding.

Lightening Mann had two spins as a two-year-old, running respectably over 7f without threatening the principals. He's up to a mile today for his reappearance after some 223 days, the trip at which his sire won the 2000 Guineas.

My take on this is that he might just be a cut above, and while I'm guessing he's had some issues the yard is absolutely flying right now, and I'm up for taking a chance on his fitness and well-being.

15:42 - Bountiful @ 2/1

Nice pot for this Listed contest, and it's attracted a good-looking field of three-year-olds.

The selection is Bountiful, a daughter of Zoustar who races in the Highclere silks and is housed with George Boughey at Newmarket. We've not seen this one since last summer, but she showed lots of ability at sprint trips, won two from four, and wrapped up by finishing a close-up fourth in an HQ Group 2.

She steps up to 7f today and her G1-winning Australian sire had no issues at the trip. No fancy entries, but fascinating to see what the season holds in store for her - starting today.

She's bang there on official figures when considering the race conditions and this might just be a lovely opportunity.

16:42 - Ecclesiastical @ 5/2

Cumbria trainer Tristan Davidson challenges for this 5f sprint handicap with an eight-year-old gelding who has seven successes from his 61-race career to date.

Ecclesiastical was second nine days ago at Wolverhampton, beaten just a head. He's quickly turned out again, off the same mark (68), and I think we should take the hint.

I can't find evidence that he's familiar with Lingfield from any past appearances, but the all-weather generally has held no terrors and he's another that looks to have slipped to a winning mark - the same as when he obliged in September, under today's jockey Jason Hart.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
