Only a few short days away from the start of the Flat - and Saturday's fabled Lincoln Handicap, from Doncaster. Seven days later? The small matter of the Aintree Grand National. If it floats your boat, we've then got the Masters at Augusta to savour. Azaleas-r-us. It's all happening; with absolute bells on.

Our midweek Lucky 15 tips are coming from Kempton Park - an outstanding nine-race card that kicks in at 16:20. Oisin Murphy is here, along with Rossa Ryan, Dave Probert, Billy Loughnane, James Doyle, Hayley Turner - it could be Royal Ascot! Competitive contests are guaranteed - bring it on.

Today's Horse Races

16:20 - Greydreambeliever @ 1/2

A penalised raider from the powerful Karl Burke yard in North Yorkshire.

Three-year-old filly Greydreambeliever is a daughter of Dark Angel, out of an Authorized mare. Beautifully-bred then, and already a winner, hence the penalty - at York last term, on debut.

She beat six rivals that day on the Knavesmire, and four of them have subsequently gone on to win. After that success (July) she contested a G3 at Salisbury (Sept), running on at the finish after rather swerving away her chance at the start.

She went down by only 4.5l and is evidently smart. Conceding the 7lb won't be easy in this novice stakes but she could be of a slightly higher calibre frankly, with potential to match.

Smashing little heat.

16:55 - Marvelman @ 5/6

Another warm-looking novice, with two likely to dominate the market.

I'm siding with Oisin Murphy aboard Andrew Balding's' Marvelman, a three-year-old Invincible Spirit colt with a progressive profile and some very solid form behind him.

The obvious danger is a Clive Cox/Rossa Ryan opponent who's one-from-one so far - Shameful - but Marvelman has performed with great credit on heavy ground despite his sire never encountering it, acting most effectively on s sounder surface.

With a useful weight advantage over his penalised rival (7lb), and now a standard-to-slow Polytrack to enjoy instead of holding, stamina-sapping conditions, he can travel into this smoothly then pounce close home to take the spoils.

Another belter of a contest.

18:00 - Standput @ 10/1

Once again the trip is 7f - a handicap this time - and an open look to proceedings.

Standput is from the red-hot yard of Richard Hannon (44% strike-rate in the last 14 days), and outstanding 3lb claimer Joe Leavy is doing the steering. This three-year-old Cotai Glory filly scored off a mark of 67 at Wolves in January and has since run to within a length of the winner at Southwell, under her penalty.

Once again she lines up off 70 this evening, and while the horse and indeed the stable are in such flying order I don't want to oppose her. Another salient factor - Joe's 3lb claim.

Professional Sean Levey is the only one to have ridden her so far and when the claim is taken into consideration she's effectively back on that winning Wolverhampton mark, as long as we're content that our more inexperienced pilot is good value for that claim - which I'm more than happy about.

19:00 - Roi De France @ 2/1

Very decent 7f Class 2 handicap action now, and another featuring Oisin Murphy - this time for Team Gosden, in the legendary Stradivarius silks of owner Bjorn Nielsen.

This four-year-old Sea The Stars colt out of a Dansili mare has two wins from seven career starts and last time out, here, on Christmas Eve, produced a personal best in a Listed heat losing out to G2-winner Poker Face by just 1.5l.

Old rival Popmaster re-opposes on better terms and looks a big danger, but Roi De France is three years his junior and his best is hopefully yet to come.

A fittingly exciting affair to close our L15 as this really is an absolutely terrific clash to savour.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £165 for your total £7.50 stake.
