Lucky 15 Tips: Command performance required from Tom’s regal filly

We had a bit of welcome joy on the winner(s) front yesterday, so time to tackle any potential midweek blues with relish. The weather's positively balmy in comparison to recent chilly depths, and while we all have our little milestones to tick off before frightening the neighbours again and getting the shorts out, for me it's 'not long until the Dante.'

York's beautiful, historic acreage in May, often to watch the Betfred Derby favourite establish his Epsom credentials, fish and chips to hand, and all's well with the world. Bring it on - but for now I'm thrilled to herald Wednesday's Lucky 15 tips, coming all the way from Kempton, a very fair all-weather haven at any time of the year. The action kicks in at 16:25 for an eight-race card.

17:00 - Cressida Wildes @ 11/4

Plenty to like about this three-year-old Showcasing filly, in the capable hands of Phil McEntee at Newmarket.

Cressida Wildes ran well in a Southwell novice in mid-November, before contesting a Newcastle nursery handicap a couple of weeks later. She ran a blinder to be beaten just over one length in fourth, and has had a little freshen-up now for 53 days before returning to novice company - also getting the 5lb fairer sex allowance.

Arc-winning jockey Luke Morris, on top last time, once again has the riding assignment. She has what it takes to win this 6f heat in my book.

17:30 - Purple Rainbow @ 6/4

A once-raced Night Of Thunder filly now, another three-year-old, and carrying the fabled colours of HM The King.

William Haggas trains, and globe-trotter extraordinaire Tom Marquand is in the plate. That one run was a good second of 12 at Wolves, beaten a length, and it was 3l back to the third.

It was 7f that day, and Purple Rainbow gets to step up to a mile on Wednesday which on breeding should suit admirably. Looks sure to go well with even average improvement, for her tip-top HQ yard.

18:30 - United Force @ 5/1

Hertfordshire trainer Clare Hobson trains this five-year-old Showcasing gelding who has won four races from 27 starts, lifetime.

The excellent Marco Ghiani gets the leg up, as on the last occasion this one performed which was 33 days ago, taking a similar affair at Southwell very nicely by 1.25l.

That was off a mark of 50 and United Force has been raised 3lb for that, which given the performance just about matched anything in his back catalogue doesn't look insurmountable to me.

Ran well here in November and this very nicely bred individual (dam by Montjeu no less) can go in again while in rude order.

20:00 - Rosco Rogers @ 4/1

A three-year-old Ribchester gelding on career start number five whose turn is looking to be very close at hand.

Gently progressive profile at this modest handicapping level and connections are taking a chance that a step up to 12f from 9.5f at Wolves last time can eke out a little more improvement.

Sire Ribchester was a very fine miler but there's some stamina on the female side as he's out of an Al Kazeem (1m 2f) mare. It's still a bold move but last time Rosco Rogers was beaten just a short-head, staying on, and the third was a previous winner.

Sean Kirrane, on board in half of his races to date, has the riding assignment once again.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
