It's a busy Wednesday of racing action with no less than six meetings to get stuck into, including the opening day of York's Dante Festival, which is one of three Flat meetings alongside Bath and Yarmouth, while jumps fare comes from Newton Abbot, Perth and Tipperary.

My Lucky 15 Tips are spread out over three meetings, with one of the selections highly thought of by trainer Karl Burke.

Lucky 15 Tips - Wednesday, May 14

  • 14:25 Yarmouth - Daring Legend @ 4/1
  • 15:13 York - Night Raider @ 10/3
  • 15:45 York - Whirl @ 7/4
  • 18:10 Bath - Camino De Santiago @ 11/4

14:25 Yarmouth - Daring Legend @ 4/1

The second of six races at Yarmouth is a 7f handicap that has attracted a field of eight and it could be worth siding with DARING LEGEND to get the better of his seven rivals.

Michael Appleby's gelding was a course-and-distance winner back in July, beating Rockymountainway by two lengths off of a mark 2lb higher than what he will be on in this race.

After some below-par efforts this year, the four-year-old looked better when grabbing third on the AW at Newcastle at the start of this month. Now fitted with cheekpieces for the first time, it is hoped the headgear will bring about more improvement

15:13 York - Night Raider @ 10/3

Eight runners will contest the Group 2 1895 Duke Of York Clipper Stakes over 6f and NIGHT RAIDER, one of three in the field for trainer Karl Burke, looks capable of claiming the spoils.

The four-year-old son of Dark Angel signed off 2024 with a couple of victories, firstly recording a two-and-a-half-length success at Kempton in October before then landing a Listed race at Newcastle by nearly four lengths.

Burke's charge is progressing nicely ahead of his seasonal return and the Middleham-based trainer is adamant his colt can develop into a Group 1 performer, telling racingtv.com: "I think he’s a Group 1 sprinter in the making. He’s got to prove that he does it on grass, but I have no doubt that he will."

15:45 York - Whirl @ 7/4

A field of six will battle it out for the Group 3 Musidora Stakes at York over 1m 2f 56y and this looks like a prime opportunity for the Aidan O'Brien-trained WHIRL to come out on top.

After finishing fourth and fifth at the Curragh and York respectively, the three-year-old got off the mark at Doncaster's St Leger meeting in a Maiden Fillies' Stakes before following up with a Group 3 success back at the Curragh.

Stablemate and Lingfield Oaks winner Giselle finished fourth at the County Kildare venue, so there was plenty to like about Whirl's triumph, and another big run is expected on the Knavesmire.

Whirl looked in need of the run when sixth over a mile on seasonal debut at the Curragh last month and the extra two-and-a-half furlongs should benefit O'Brien's charge in this race.

18:10 Bath - Camino De Santiago @ 11/4

A 1m Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Bath will see five runners go to post and it is hard to look past CAMINO DE SANTIAGO for trainer Warren Greatrex.

This one-raced filly was third of eight over course and distance last month and that result could have been a lot better had the three-year-old not been held up after a slow start.

Camino De Santiago finished that race in eye-catching fashion and she should improve with that run under her belt.

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £284.50 for your total £7.50 stake.
