Doncaster has passed its morning inspection and provides jump racing entertainment today, along with Leicester (which must pass a further look at 10.30am, due to frost).

Flat action comes from Kempton, and its all-weather Tapeta surface.

Though we've yet to hit our straps this week I'm once again plumping for the level regarding Wednesday's Lucky 15 suggestion. There are nine races this late afternoon/early evening at Kempton Park, with competitive field sizes and top connections represented. Let's hope we can find a few to run really well for us.

This is an example of how to put together a Lucky 15 - if you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £379 for your total £7.50 stake.

Popular legend confirms that Fred, 'The Bonus King,' invented the 'Lucky' series of bets and their bonuses. Want the lowdown - all the ins and outs? My colleague Adam has set out all you need to know with this handy guide - take a look by clicking here.

Lucky 15 tips, Wednesday

Kempton

  • 18.00 - Laura's Breeze @ 7/4
  • 19.00 - Claxton Bay @ 5/2
  • 20.00 - Composite @ 11/4
  • 20.30 - Premier Beauty @ 7/1

18.00 - Laura's Breeze @ 7/4

A one-mile handicap for 4-yr-olds and upwards.

The selection opened her account over 7f at Wolves in November, off a mark of 59. She's run creditably in defeat since, including last time here a week ago when narrowly failing to get up. She was doing her best work at the finish, and gets an extra furlong today.

Ed Dunlop trains the 4-yr-old and Rossa Ryan rides - there have been few more potent all-weather combos in recent months. Appears today off 60, the same mark as seven days ago, and being drawn in mid-div (7) Rossa should be able to get some cover before challenging late.

19.00 - Claxton Bay @ 5/2

Another mile handicap, slightly higher grade, and a small but interesting field.

Claxton Bay represents the powerful Hannon yard, and once again Rossa Ryan is in the plate. The 3-yr-old colt is still a maiden but has shown definite signs of ability in his six runs so far.

Appeared not to stay ten furlongs last time at Chelmsford, and has gone close at this mile trip before. Gets a welcome 3lb respite from the handicapper down to a mark of 67, and one hopes that Rossa can find the key to him tonight.

20.00 - Composite @ 11/4

1m 3f novice stakes, for 4-yr-olds+.

The selection is a gelded son of the mighty Cracksman, and carries a penalty for winning comfortably last time at Wolverhampton. Another potent combination are behind Composite in the form of trainer George Boughey and jockey Billy Loughnane, and entirely unsurprisingly they are being seriously backed as I type.

Karl Burke provides a huge threat (Lartigue) but Composite could be open to further improvement and go on to better things. The market is certainly speaking in his favour in the early exchanges this morning.

20.30 - Premier Beauty @ 7/1

I'm going for a Ryan field day, with Stuart Williams' 4-yr-old Churchill filly Premier Beauty.

She was beaten just a length here a month ago and drops a notch in class from a 4 to a 5 tonight. Gets a one-pound reliever from the handicapper too, so the stars are aligning nicely. Ultra-shrewd trainer has booked one of the season's leading lights, and the horse has run well at tracks like Newmarket and Haydock.

She's had a look at the Tapeta and obviously acted well upon it, so Premier Beauty looks good value to me and as we're paying four places I'll be having a separate each-way tickle too.
