Lucky 15 Tips Wednesday

Punchestown

  • 15:40 - Mistergif @ 11/8
  • 16:15 - Dancing City @ 2/1
  • 16:50 - Jasmin De Vaux @ 6/4
  • 18:35 - Fleur Au Fusil @ 10/3

15:40 - Mistergif @ 11/8

A Willie Mullins-trained, P Townend-ridden, Souede/Munir-owned hurdler dropping markedly in class - what's not to like? After taking a Limerick maiden easily in January on stable debut (formerly running in France), Mistergif has bumped into Slade Steel and Mystical Power at Cheltenham and Aintree respectively.

Most of the combatants carry 11st 12lb here and unsurprisingly given his festival exploits in England he's the top-rated entrant. By any yardstick he's got a fantastic chance and rather as Daddy Long Legs hosed up for us and Willie yesterday, I'm hoping this is another improver who's about to put down an emphatic marker.

16:15 - Dancing City @ 2/1

Willie again - and a good winner for us at Aintree 19 days ago. A touch of class, is invariably waited with, and has gears. Dancing City got to within 6l of Ballyburn here in a bumper before announcing himself as a fine timber-topper, and once again he's the top-rated horse in the field.

Races in the famous Donnelly silks and another Grade 1 could be on its way to Closutton.

16:50 - Jasmin De Vaux @ 6/4

A NH flat race - a bumper - and guess who? Willie trains, and once again it's Townend/Souede/Munir on the Grade 1 trail. WP Mullins runs several, but son Patrick has opted for this and that's more than good enough for me.

Won the Cheltenham Champion Bumper impressively, and bids to do similar in his native Ireland. He's unbeaten, and I reckon it's going to stay that way for a wee while yet.

18:35 - Fleur Au Fusil @ 10/3

A mares' bumper closes the card, and while it's a Willie inmate I'm once again selecting, it's perhaps not the most obvious candidate. The brilliant Jody Townend rides Fleur Au Fusil, with Willie's son Patrick aboard Aurora Vega, daughter of the mighty racemare Quevega.

The selection ran respectably in the Champion Bumper at HQ, 12l behind her winning stablemate, and appeared not to fancy the hill too much in that testing ground. On a flatter track here, and better ground, I think she can take this Grade 3.

If you're playing, the very best of luck, take care, and as always, have fun.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £125 for your total £7.50 stake.
