Lucky 15 Tips: In-form Tom has chances at Wolves

What a fantastic weekend we had, with the Betfred Guineas Festival producing some wonderful action and all three of our tipping pieces embracing Newmarket, the other two ITV races and a L15 at Donny, produced winners.

It's Chester later this week, then York's Dante meeting the week after, which I'm lucky enough to be attending. As for Tuesday, May 6, let's pop over to Dunstall Park Wolverhampton for some competitive flat-race evening action on the Tapeta. Their six-race card kicks in at 18:30, and a brief look at the calibre of jocks present reveals the likes of Mr and Mrs Marquand, Rossa Ryan and Billy Loughnane. They don't get much better than that.

19:00 - Bella Sonata @ 7/2

Hopefully this one will be hitting all the right notes (and in the right order) for Paul and Oliver Cole; with the red-hot Tom Marquand booked to ride.

The three-year-old filly Bella Sonata ran once at two, green and unplaced at Goodwood, then on reappearance three weeks ago in a Kempton maiden under Finley Marsh she was impressive, powering away by 2l.

She's in a restricted novice now and can take this little heat before perhaps stepping up into loftier company next time.

19:30 - Crackalackin @ 6/1

Rossa Ryan rides this three-year-old Cracksman gelding for another fine training combo, Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole.

Crackalackin was beaten just half-a-length in one of these 10 days ago under a good 5lb claimer but connections have reached out to the brilliant Ryan, instead of persisting with potentially reducing his weight via the apprentice route once again.

He's knocking on the door all right, and Rossa can help him pop right through and break his duck. Last time was a career-best (five starts all-time up to today), and for what it's worth this is my nap of the evening.

20:00 - Rosezan @ 12/1

We're unashamedly with that man Marquand again, on board a three-year-old Ardad filly with Adrian Paul Keatley, up in North Yorkshire.

Rosezan remains a maiden after five spins but she's beginning to look nicely handicapped at this lowly level - and the booking of Tom speaks volumes in my view.

After three uneventful novice/maiden outings her opening mark was 60 - and after two unsuccessful runs she's down to 55. Finished nearly 5l behind the winner last time off 58, so this tumbling number plus Marquand's presence looks very interesting.

21:00 - Ziggy's Queen @ 15/2

Middleham Park Racing CXVII enter their four-year-old Invincible Spirit gelding, trained by Musley Bank's finest Richard Fahey, and ridden by up-and-coming claimer Warren Fentiman.

Ziggy's Queen has one success from 20 attempts so far but is another dropping in the handicap - once rated 82 in October 2023, he's slipped to a career-low of 67 - and don't forget we can take another 5lb off for Warren's claim.

Decent effort last time at Haydock 10 days ago, beaten 4l, and I think he's got a lot going for him this evening.

Some good value is to be had for our selections today, so my suggestion is that we play each-way.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
