Tuesday Lucky 15 Tips: Rossa at the double?

Welcome to Tuesday, Jan 30th, dear reader. Nothing spectacular to report about yesterday other than Rossa Ryan had a treble at Wolverhampton and we weren't on any of them!! How on earth did that happen ..

Jumps action today from Limerick, Chepstow and Newcastle, and a late afternoon/early evening all-weather card from Southwell, which is where we're headed for today's Lucky 15 suggestion.

Eight races, Tom Marquand, Hollie Doyle, Rossa once again - I'd love to be there, well rugged-up, enjoying the Tapeta talent.

18.30 - Smoky Mountain @ 11/4

A notable raider in every regard.

A 4-yr-old gelded son of Frankel out of an Acclamation mare, and owned by Lady & Alice Bamford. Charlie Fellows trains and Danny Muscott rides this in-form entrant who steps up to a mile for the first time today, after excelling at 7f. Has a 5lb hike to overcome too.

The way he scooted clear at Wolves last time suggests this could well be within compass, and with Danny riding him for the first time on the last occasion it's comforting to see him on board once again this afternoon.

Has a Lincoln handicap entry - ah, thoughts of spring, which can't come quickly enough in my book!

19.00 - Rhasidat @ 4/1

Rossa Ryan rides another in-form animal in the shape of Rhasidat, as he did when swooping late to score last time at Kempton nearly three weeks ago. Same trip/grade, but a 4lb lift to overcome today.

She's having only her second run for new connections since arriving from the Irish yard of Adrian McGuiness and is now in the care of Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole in Worcestershire.

New surroundings seemed to spark something of a revival last time and she can continue her upward curve tonight. Had respectable form previously, especially at Dundalk, but appeared to take a step forward at Kempton - and of course there's Rossa. Anyone riding the all-weather tracks better?

A polished Group One-winning talent whatever the surface.

19.30 - Back Tomorrow @ 2/1

4-yr-old filly, a course-and-distance scorer, with Jason Hart riding for Richard Spencer.

Has performed with distinction the last twice for top amateur pilot Simon Walker, and in pretty much career-best fashion. One of those runs was a win here off 58, and he's rated 61 today.

Narrowly beaten by Big R last time and that one was second under a 5lb penalty at Wolves the other day, so the form looks genuine.

Evidently adjusting nicely to the English scene, and is out of a Canford Cliffs mare - an old favourite who it's worth noting was as short as 7/4 once to beat the mighty Frankel in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood. Looking forward very much to seeing her later.

20.30 - Tables Turned @ 4/1

Rossa once again - this time on a Phil McEntee-trained 5-yr-old Ulysses gelding, who hinted at a return to form last time after a little break.

First time at Southwell, but has gone well at Chelmsford previously which is encouraging. Beaten only 1.5l last time despite hanging, and gets another furlong today (1m 3f), which on breeding should be no issue whatsoever.

Tried a mile-and-a-half at Kempton last March and was rather outpaced than out-stayed. I love the booking of Ryan and is a statement from connections that they mean business.
