Lucky 15 Tips: It’s North Yorkshire night in Geordieland!

My Lucky 15 week begins here, and after enjoying winners over the last seven days it was certainly hard going at weekend, where scorers for the feature and within the ITV contests were elusive indeed. The action was absolutely compelling and we go again, with the days counting down until Christmas, and a very busy period for the sport both here and in Ireland.
Terrific racing will be the order of the day; but first let's enjoy this week's fare, starting with our Lucky 15 tips for Tuesday, December 17. I'm heading to Newcastle, and an all-weather nine-race programme that kicks in at 15:23. Should be hugely entertaining.
Lucky 15 Tips - Tuesday, December 17
Newcastle
15:23 - Orange N Blue @ 11/2
First up we have a four-year-old Saxon Warrior gelding out of a Sea The Stars mare.
Orange N Blue is trained in North Yorkshire by Ruth Carr and will be ridden by James Sullivan. He only shipped in from Jane Chapple-Hyam's last month and is making his debut for the yard.
When last seen in January in slightly better company he was third, beaten just 1.5l, and started favourite. Ruth is listed as the new owner, for now at least, and she's had about five weeks to get to know her new boarder.
His last three spins were over 12f but he slides down to 10f this afternoon; and is dropped a pound to a mark of 73. Interesting to see what he's making of his new surroundings because the horse certainly has shown ability.
17:00 - Steps In Time @ 3/1
A very nice Class 3 mile maiden now, for three-year-olds.
Steps In Time is with the brilliant David O'Meara, another North Yorkshire maestro, and David Nolan has the riding assignment. It's just career start number three, and his racing career only begun about five weeks ago.
The gelding hasn't pulled up any trees thus far but his trainer is outstanding and he's one of those that you feel will just take off when the penny drops. Fingers crossed that's on Tuesday afternoon.
18:00 - Paddy's Day @ 6/1
A four-year-old sprint handicapper now, by the great Starspangledbanner.
Paddy's Day is a course-and-distance scorer, trained by Nigel Tinkler in .... of course, North Yorkshire. Claimer Alex Jary takes off a useful 5lb.
26 days ago he was just shaded at Southwell in a marginally lower grade and gets a slight class hike here, plus another 2lb rise in the handicap for that excellent run.
Since September he's in fantastic, super-consistent form, and no-one would begrudge him another success.
19:30 - She'sashambles @ 6/1
The lucky last, and a three-year-old Profitable filly looking to improve upon a second-place finish here 25 days ago.
She'sashambles is trained by Philip Makin (you don't need to ask where), and Sam James is on board. This is a basement Class 6 handicapper but once again is one that shows a good deal of consistency - and with moderate types that's an absolute godsend.
She goes well here at Newcastle's Gosforth Park Tapeta track and though holding no secrets from the handicapper has a decent chance off 52 tonight - up just a pound from last time.
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.25p each-way Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £620 for your total £7.50 stake.
Fred, 'The Bonus King,' invented the 'Lucky' series of bets and their bonuses. My colleague Adam has set out all you need to know with this handy guide - take a look by clicking here.
