Lucky 15 Tips: Four for Tuesday’s action

There are three UK meetings taking place on Tuesday, as they go on the Flat at Lingfield, Nottingham and Hamilton.

A total of 18 races make up the quota and we've selected a Lucky15 for consideration that includes Good Morning Alex bidding to secure more success in Scotland for David Barron.

15:45 Lingfield – Wisper @ 9/4

WISPER and Oisin Murphy are the ones to side with in the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Handicap, the first of the afternoon races from Lingfield set to be run on the turf track.

The mare is experienced, with a 6-29 record on turf and eight more placed efforts included. She has run well in four of her five starts this season, including runner-up finishes at Brighton and Windsor over 1m2f.

Last time, she was an eye-catcher at Glorious Goodwood in a Class 2 contest, attempting to make her challenge from the rear and meeting some trouble that can be typical of that venue, before being beaten a length-and-a-half at the line.

From the same mark in this less taxing environment and with Murphy a promising jockey booking for trainer Marcus Tregoning, she can get her head back in front.

16:00 Nottingham – Almudena @ 2/1

The Colwick Cup Handicap is Nottingham's feature race and Sir Mark Prescott looks primed with ALMUDENA after his Study Of Man filly won last time at Sandown (1m6f, good to firm).

She had generally been improving since rising in trip and Luke Morris got her head in front in just the right place, as they overhauled Raaki in the shadows of the post to win that contest 13 days ago.

As is typical of this operation, some sustained improvement could be forthcoming, especially with a further tax in stamina applied now.

This is an Extra Place Race so Betfred will be paying 3 Places instead of 2 at 1/5 Odds.

17:30 Hamilton – Refuge @ 4/1

The opener at Hamilton is a 'Hands And Heels' Apprentice Handicap over the minimum 5f and REFUGE is taken to enhance an already very impressive record at the Scottish venue.

The son of Harbour Watch has four wins, a second and two thirds from his nine visits to this venue, all of those runs having come over this trip.

He last won here in August 2023 off a mark of 70 and now returns for the first time this season having scored last time at Beverley off a reduced mark of 58. He's 5lb higher in the ratings now but Lewis Chalkley offsets that with this claim and C&D experience could be crucial here.

19:00 Hamilton – Good Morning Alex @ 4/1

The feature race at Hamilton on Tuesday evening is the McEwan Grant Construction Scottish Trophy Handicap, a Class 3 contest set to be run over 1m1f with a field of 11 declared.

The one that makes decent appeal is GOOD MORNING ALEX, winner of his last three starts for trainer David Barron.

The three-year-old gelding remains unbeaten in turf handicaps after wins at Wetherby over a mile in April and then here over 1m½f and this trip in May/June.

The front-runner was asked a few more questions last time, but he had the answers and beat off two next-time-out winners into second and third. He is rated 7lb higher now but may not have found his ceiling and his ability to handle this track is established.

This is a Super Extra Place Race so Betfred will be paying 4 Places instead of 3 for all each-way bets at 1/5 Odds.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
