Lucky 15 Tips: David can find the way at Wolves

After all that Betfred Derby Festival excitement from Epsom, Royal Ascot looms on the horizon next week - but in the meantime we can have lots of fun in advance of that fantastic high-octane garden party, starting with Tuesday's Lucky 15 tips. Let's head to Wolves for some all-weather fare - their seven-race card kicks in at 14:45.

Brief tribute if you don't mind - the beyond-brilliant dual-purpose trainer Peter Easterby has died, aged 95. He handled the magnificent Sea Pigeon, my favourite all-time racehorse, and a host of other champions including Night Nurse.

Yorkshire royalty. Racing royalty. Quite simply one of the very best, ever.

I hope you'll forgive the shameless reminder (above) regarding a piece I put together for Day One of the Betfred Derby meeting last Friday. Bit of a red-letter occasion, as they all won!

Anyway - here's how we see Tuesday panning out with our Lucky 15, fingers crossed.

15:15 - Azure Zain @ 2/1

Middleham Park racing silks to the fore here with a three-year-old Hello Youmzain colt, trained by Richard Fahey in North Yorkshire - ironically one of many who credit Peter Easterby with having a tremendous influence on their careers.

Azure Zain has run just twice, both last month, and ran respectably without getting competitive. He'll know a bit more about the game now some three weeks later, and can oblige for his esteemed connections.

16:15 - Pastoral Way @ 9/2

Another northern powerhouse trains this one - David O'Meara, a similarly tremendous supplier of winners, year in, year out.

Pastoral Way ran really well a week ago at Leicester but faded a touch close home over this 5f trip. It's a mighty pull to the line up the straight at that venue and around a couple of bends here I'm banking on this three-year-old Pastoral Pursuits gelding holding his form and getting his head on front for what would be a first win, after nine fruitless attempts so far.

He's quite well treated by the terms of this Conditions contest and he's my nap for the day. Claimer Cian Horgan takes off a valuable 5lb.

17:15 - Rampant @ 11/4

Another apprentice riding a wave - Warren Fentiman, with a thrilling sprint win at Epsom under his belt the other day.

He's on board with Patrick Morris's five-year-old Roaring Lion gelding Rampant. No wins from 19 tempers enthusiasm but since joining Patrick in November has been placed on several occasions and the jockey knows him well.

A value shout in my book in an open contest.

17:50 - Pretty Spirited @ 15/2

Another apprentice - this time Alec Voikhansky, attached to the Hannon yard, and who's having a fantastic time of it (lovely winner at Goodwood four days ago).

He takes 3lb off the back of Pretty Spirited, a three-year-old filly by Swiss Spirit out of an Aqlaam mare. Nottinghamshire-based trainer Kevin Frost is another seeking a first success for his charge but the last two runs (both in April), at Southwell then Wetherby, signalled a definite step up and she's been dropped a pound by the assessor too, for good measure.

I think Alec is outstanding, and has a big future in the game.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
