Lucky 15 Tips: O’Brien spots an opportunity on the Flat

There are no fewer than six meetings taking place across the UK and Ireland on Tuesday.
National Hunt fans can look forward to jumps meetings at Tipperary and Stratford, while they race on the flat at Musselburgh, Brighton, Chelmsford and Roscommon. Below are my Lucky 15 Tips for Tuesday's racing, including selections from Brighton, Musselburgh, Roscommon and Stratford.
Lucky 15 Tips - Tuesday, July 1
- 15:00 Musselburgh - The Trickster @ 3/1
- 15:10 Brighton - Desert Beauty @ 5/1
- 20:08 Roscommon - Janes Harbour @ 9/4
- 20:18 Stratford - Theonlywayiswessex @ 3/1

15:00 Musselburgh - The Trickster @ 3/1
John and Sean Quinn have seen plenty of consistency from THE TRICKSTER in recent months and the three-year-old looks capable of landing the Alan Steel Asset Management 50th Anniversary Handicap at Musselburgh.
The son of Persian King won both of his races last autumn before returning from a 169-day break at Newmarket in April to finish second under jockey Jason Hart.
With finishes of third at Ascot and Epsom since, The Trickster will receive a weight-for-age allowance from the rest of the field on Tuesday and that should help him return to winning ways.
15:10 Brighton - Desert Beauty @ 5/1
Connections of DESERT BEAUTY will hope for revenge on Tuesday as their three-year-old competes in a classified stakes battle at Brighton.
My Boy Harry won a series qualifier last week, beating Desert Beauty by just over two lengths.
Trainer Dylan Cunha has yet to guide the son of Oasis Dream to victory since he made his debut in March 2025, but he will receive 6lbs from My Boy Harry as he tries to reverse last week's result.
20:08 Roscommon - Janes Harbour @ 9/4
JANES HARBOUR has recently been campaigned over timber for owner JP McManus, but trainer Joseph O'Brien has clearly spotted an opportunity to shine on the flat at Roscommon on Tuesday.
Seven of Janes Harbour's first eight races were over hurdles, but connections switched the four-year-old to the flat last week at Ballinrobe.
She finished third over 1m1f, but she won over 2m over hurdles at Ballinrobe in May. Tuesday's contest at Roscommon will be over 1m4f and the step up in trip should suit.
20:18 Stratford - Theonlywayiswessex @ 3/1
Trainer Alan King must have thought he was celebrating another winner earlier this month when THEONLYWAYISWESSEX kicked for home at Warwick.
The seven-year-old, under the guidance of jockey Tom Bellamy, eventually finished second after making his move too early. He was reeled in by Isocrate, but connections will be confident he can improve after blowing off the cobwebs.
Theonlywayiswessex last won in December at Plumpton, but connections are wasting no time in getting their charge back on the track at Stratford as he and Bellamy look to make amends in what is a weak field.
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £XX for your total £7.50 stake.
