I think Newcastle's Tapeta surface is very consistent, and hard-luck stories in-running are very few and far between. That's plenty of boxes ticked from a punting point of view, and so Gosforth Park is where I'm heading, November 7, for Thursday's Lucky 15 tips.

The other day we had three winners from four runners on the course, so any repeat would be most welcome! Lovely 4/1 scorer at Kempton yesterday too, so the all-weather continues to do us proud. The action up north kicks in at 14:10 and there are eight races. Billy Loughnane's here, and it would be no surprise if he's a massive threat to all, as per.

Lucky 15 Tips, Thursday

Newcastle

  • 14:10 - Keen Interest @ 3/1
  • 15:20 - White Crown Star @ 9/4
  • 15:55 - Chesneys Charm @ 9/4
  • 16:30 - Muker @ 4/1

Today's Horse Races

14:10 - Keen Interest @ 3/1

Three-year-old Kodiac gelding makes the journey from Newmarket, for trainer Alice Haynes.

Keen Interest is very consistent at a variety of trips including this one of around 10f. Jockey Callum Rodriguez gets his first sit on the horse, who finished close-up in a similar grade over a tad further at Wolves 13 days ago, claimer-ridden.

He's been rated as high as 69 in the past - a very stiff opening mark, and subsequently proven to be so - but runs off 50 today, much more his ball-park.

15:20 - White Crown Star @ 9/4

Famous colours (Saeed Suhail) and a tip-top combo in trainer Andrew Balding and jockey Dave Probert.

White Crown Star has just recently joined the Kingsclere maestro from the retiring legend Sir Michael Stoute, and has his first outing for the stable. Two runs so far for this Sea The Stars colt; a sighter at HQ and a much more competitive effort at Yarmouth, 50 days ago.

That last maiden run was full of promise and he's got bright prospects in this novice stakes heat.

15:55 - Chesneys Charm @ 9/4

A one-mile nursery, for two-year-olds.

Chesneys Charm is fairly experienced for a juvenile with eight starts behind him, and the Mohaather colt has already won three times.

He's only a pound above his last winning mark and Harrison Shaw gets the leg up for the first time. One of those wins was here at Newcastle early last month so we know he goes very well on the surface.

16:30 - Muker @ 4/1

Class-dropping handicap sprinter for trainer Nigel Tinkler, who had a winner at Nottingham on Wednesday.

Muker is vastly-experienced, and is on his third trainer. Here, in a grade higher 16 days ago, the six-year-old Mehmas gelding was beaten just half a length under this decent claimer, and dropping to a Class 4 contest can see him back in the winner's enclosure.

If you're playing take care, have fun as always, and good luck.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £230 for your total £7.50 stake.
