Do not use lucky 15

Hello - Thursday's Lucky 15 suggestion here. Three from a cracking all-weather meet at Chelmsford tonight, and one from that splendid National Hunt course at Market Rasen.

Let's get stuck in - here's today's tips.

Prices can of course fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four were successful, would return around £314 for your total £7.50 stake.

Popular legend confirms that Fred, 'The Bonus King,' invented the 'Lucky' series of bets and their bonuses. Want the lowdown - all the ins and outs? My colleague Adam has set out all you need to know with this handy guide - take a look by clicking here.

Lucky 15 tips, Thursday

  • 15.25 Market Rasen - Diamond Koda @ 2/1
  • 17.30 Chelmsford - Gold Aura @ 5/2
  • 19.30 Chelmsford - Adace @ 3/1
  • 20.30 Chelmsford - Alexi Boy @ 6/1

15.25 Market Rasen - Diamond Koda @ 2/1

A fascinating closing National Hunt flat race (bumper) on Market Rasen's card, with my selection being Diamond Koda, the mount of champ Brian Hughes.

Two solid performances so far, here in May and more recently last month at Sandown. Only beaten half-a-length on both occasions, the winners were trained, respectively, by Messrs Henderson and Nicholls.

Sets a really good standard for me and though I respect and fear Casual Observer for Harry Derham, I wouldn't swop mine. A deserved success could be imminent.

17.30 Chelmsford - Gold Aura @ 5/2

A ten-furlong restricted maiden, and a former Richard Hannon-trained Golden Horn filly now in the care of Jack Jones. It's her first run for Jack, having only transferred at the start of the month. New owner, too.

She's visited some top tracks, including a very respectable run at Newbury when last seen in August in a Class 4 handicap. She's still a maiden for a reason, but I have a feeling she'll embrace both her new surroundings and this excellent opportunity.

Ran really well on the sand at Kempton in April, so Polytrack should hold no terrors - and given her gifted sire's staying-power, there should be plenty under the bonnet at the business end.

19.30 Chelmsford - Adace @ 3/1

I tipped this mare up last month for a similar contest here and she bolted up. Three weeks later she returns with a 5lb penalty, but the manner of that recent win was such that I hope it proves no impediment to further success.

Trainer Dean Ivory's limited and select recent entries are running extremely well, and Hector Crouch takes over from Rab Havlin on top. A tiddler of a contest but at any level, if you're in decent nick it helps no end - and she is.

20.30 Chelmsford - Alexi Boy @ 6/1

Michael Bell trains, Rossa Ryan rides. Regular readers will know how highly I rate Ryan, and I like the look of this booking.

It's a Class 4, 5f sprint handicap, highly competitive-looking, and my selection ran very well last time at Lingfield (beaten just a neck). The wicked old handicapper has reacted to that by popping him up 3lb, which is unfortunate, but this son of Oasis Dream did produce a lifetime-best.

It's only career-start number 7, so the upward curve shown by the 3-yr-old last time bodes well. And then there's Rossa, and that little bit of magic dust he seems to carry around with him ..
