Lucky 15 Tips: 7/2 Yorkshire Oaks hope headlines Thursday’s four

Racing on Thursday features seven meetings, including Day 2 of the Ebor Festival at York which hosts the G1 Yorkshire Oaks. There's also Racing League fun from Newcastle, plus Listed Irish action at Leopardstown.

Encompassing those very meetings, I've put together some Lucky 15 tips for your consideration.

15:35 York - Emily Upjohn @ 7/2

Anything that could go wrong did go wrong for EMILY UPJOHN in the Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood three weeks ago and it is worth drawing a line through that effort.

She won the Musidora Stakes at York in 2022 on her only previous Knavesmire start and her run in the Pretty Polly Stakes behind Bluestocking in June was excellent, perhaps undone by playing her cards just too soon.

This doesn't look like the strongest Fillies' & Mares' Group 1 event on paper and Kieran Shoemark's partner can register her third career win in this grade and a first under this pilot.

16:10 York - Sea Just In Time @ 6/4

The Listed Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes over a mile-and-a-half can go the way of William Haggas and Tom Marquand for the second year running after they scored last year with Sea Theme. This time around it's SEA JUST IN TIME, another filly by Sea The Stars.

She was a debut winner at Newmarket (1m2f, good) in May and then disappointed when expected to win next time at Goodwood in Listed company. She was slowly away in that contest and possibly didn't handle the track.

Given a short break afterwards, she returned to action at Kempton earlier this month and gave 7lb and a beating to an 88-rated rival in Beeley from the John & Thady Gosden team.

She has scope for better here and fully merits another crack in this company on a track that should lend itself to her, while the Haggas team are in scintillating form, boasting a recent strike-rate of 33%.

18:25 Leopardstown - Kinesiology @ 10/3

Jessica Harrington's KINESIOLOGY has been a silver medallist in Listed company on his last two starts, here at Leopardstown over 1m4f in June and then at Gowran Park last month behind all the way winner The Euphrates.

This Study Of Man colt was rallying at the line in that contest as he almost got back up to deny the Ballydoyle inmate and, on that evidence, an extra two-furlongs is sure to suit. He has leading form claims and scope for better under Shane Foley.

19:15 Newcastle - Furzig @ 20/1

The veteran FURZIG could be the one to beat for Richard Fahey and Oisin Orr in this Racing League contest over the extended mile-and-a-half trip at Newcastle.

He won at Catterick over a similar distance on penultimate start in the hands of this rider and a combination of softer ground and poor positioning didn't aid the cause last time at Chepstow.

A mark of 72 is still workable for the nine-year-old and he has plenty of Gosforth Park experience on the CV.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
