Lucky 15 Tips: Middleham Park Flyer can strike again on Thursday

A mixed bag at Lingers yesterday - fabulous winning start (advised 7/2, eventually returned at 11/2), but we couldn't match anything up with it. Our 'double the odds for a solitary winner' clause in the Lucky 15 ensured we got most of our stake back, and we very happily live to fight another day having had a deal of fun into the bargain.
Thursday's Lucky 15 tips (November 14) come courtesy of Chelmsford, and a Polytrack all-weather eight-race meet that kicks in at 17:00.
Lucky 15 Tips - Thursday, November 14
Chelmsford
17:00 - Mrs Dowley @ 5/2
Fascinating opener, with few strongly fancied in the early shows.
Maiden two-year-old fillies do battle here, and our selection Mrs Dowley is a daughter of undefeated 2000 Guineas hero Footstepsinthesand. She's run just the once for trainer Michael Bell, three days ago at Wolves.
The experience looked as if it would do her the world of good (green, beaten 3.75l), and it's very interesting that she reappears so quickly over a furlong more (7f).
There's bags of speed on the dam's side and her sire, though sadly very lightly-raced, won at 6f, 7f and a mile. Can't wait to see this one, and what she's learned from that spin at Dunstall Park.
17:30 - Space Trooper @ 2/1
A 7f novice stakes contest, and a thrice-raced four-year-old who only made his racecourse debut in September.
Those runs have been quietly progressive, and this 7f looks like the gelding's trip for now. P Charalambous & J Clutterbuck train, and the admirable Richard Kingscote sits on the horse for the first time on a racecourse.
It's 17 days since Space Trooper achieved a decent second at Newcastle, and can step up here to register a first success for connections.
19:00 - Kessaar Power @ 3/1
Arc-winning jock Luke Morris rides this four-year-old Kessaar gelding for trainer Phil McEntee.
Kessaar Power is a course-and-distance scorer, and just a week ago here over a furlong less he just failed to get up, off a mark of 54. Same spot today, and he gets an extra furlong (1m) in which to make his challenge an even more telling one.
Luke was on top last time and on several previous occasions. The horse is vastly experienced and evidently takes his racing well. He's been with Phil just over a year (third trainer in all) and I think he's both in-form, and on a winning mark.
Modest heat, but a little cracker in its own right.
19:30 - Flying Fletcher @ 6/4
This one did us a favour nine days ago at Newcastle, winning comfortably returning to action after a 58-day break.
The famous Middleham Park Racing silks will be on show, Flying Fletcher travels from the North Yorkshire base of the mighty Richard Fahey, and Billy Garrity is doing the steering.
Same trip/grade tonight as at Gosforth Park, but he's got a 6lb penalty to overcome. Last time was comfortably a career-best, and he rather sauntered into the contest on the near-side before extending close home for a cosy success.
Hopefully this decent-sized field can go at a decent lick and 'Fletch' can pick them off in the final furlong. If this one isn't seen in a nice York handicap next turf season I'm giving the game up (ish).
If you're playing take care, have fun as always, and good luck.
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £150 for your total £7.50 stake.
