Lucky 15 Tips: Four to follow on Sunday

With Goodwood over we have Yarmouth and Chester staging fixtures in the UK on Sunday, alongside the final day of the Galway Festival over in Ireland.

We have both Flat and jumps action to enjoy, beginning over obstacles at Galway, before heading to Yarmouth for action on the Flat. Below is my Lucky 15 selection for Sunday’s action.

14:20 Galway - Bitofajokelike @ 7/1

BITOFAJOKELIKE showed significant improvement at the back end of april to finish a close second in a maiden hurdle at Cork. Since then he has been a model of consistency, subsequently finishing first and third in two handicap hurdles.

He races here off a mark just 1lb higher than when last seen and this shouldn’t be enough to stop this lightly raced five-year-old from further progression.

Jake Coen continues his association with the son of Malinas, and with him claiming 3lb, he can return to winning ways.

15:30 Galway - Drumgill @ 10/1

Another race that is a typically competitive handicap chase, as can be expected at the Galway Festival.

A case can be made for many in here and Sea Music is likely to be well fancied given Emmet Mullins’ form at the track this week and how he clearly targets this festival. This can create better betting opportunities elsewhere and DRUMGILL looks to have an outstanding chance.

He was a recent winner over hurdles, albeit off a much lower rating, and comes here in great form. Further to this, three starts ago he was second over fences with the winner on this day being Galway Plate winner Western Fold.

The drop in trip here will be of no concern given how he has shown his versatility in this regard on numerous occasions. He should go very close under Daniel King.

16:12 Yarmouth - Telecommunication @ 10/1

TELECOMMUNICATION’s record in handicaps is mostly a tale of frustration. Outpaced and staying on in a nursery over a mile, drawn wide and slowly away on seasonal bow, re-shod pre-race, a sluggish start and a slipping saddle at Goodwood and held up last in a race dominated by pacesetters at Doncaster.

However, sandwiched in between those efforts is his only win, over this course and distance back in May.

The second, third and seventh have all franked the form since and he wears a visor for the first time to sharpen him up, while Hector Crouch takes the ride with a 32% strike-rate for the yard this year.

17:12 Yarmouth - Suzuka @ 13/2

At Epsom last time SUZUKA was well supported into favouritism having run to a respectable level on numerous occasions. She failed to deliver last time, but excuses can be made with her too far back in the field and travelling wide round the outside, ultimately leaving her with far too much to do.

She is still lightly raced and the straight mile at Yarmouth should be much more to her liking provided Aidan Keeley can get her to settle early.
