Lucky 15 Tips: Firebird can burn off Naas rivals on Sunday

The pace slackens a touch on Sunday, with just four meetings in the offing from across Britain and Ireland. They all come on the Flat, with a busy afternoon bringing action from Naas, Goodwood, Beverley and Yarmouth.
My Lucky 15 tips for Sunday's action includes what could be a very smart sprinting filly in the making as she targets the feature Ballyogan Stakes on the card at Naas.
Lucky 15 Tips - Sunday, August 25
13:50 Goodwood - Charlotte's Web @ 9/4
The afternoon at Goodwood kicks off with the Darley EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes over a mile-and-a-quarter and Simon & Ed Crisford's contender CHARLOTTE'S WEB should prove good enough to break free from the field.
The Night Of Thunder filly was placed in turf maidens over a mile at Yarmouth and Newmarket on her first two starts and once more hit the frame on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton this month when she stepped up to this trip in the hands of Harry Davies.
She was aptly named in that contest as she was entangled behind a wall of horses when they rounded the final bend, having to wait and then change course to get clear daylight before powering home strongly.
If granted a clearer path, this looks to be within reach.
15:07 Naas - Firebird @ 7/2
Group 3 action from Ireland comes via the Tally-Ho Stud Irish EBF Ballyogan Stakes for Fillies' And Mares', and it looks like an excellent stopping point for Paddy Twomey's FIREBIRD.
The Lope De Vega filly was purchased for 260,000 gns after her debut 6f second at Ayr when trained by Rebecca Menzies, and she joined Twomey last autumn.
Her two runs on Irish soil this season have brought a five-length Cork maiden (6f, good) in July and an even more comprehensive success over this C&D at the start of this month.
She could potentially be a Group 1-class filly in the making and is fancied to take this next step up the ladder in her stride and make it 3-3 for Twomey and Billy Lee.
15:50 Beverley - Amerjeet @ 5/1
Archie Watson enjoyed big-race success via the Nunthorpe at York on Friday with Bradsell and is fancied to land this much lower-level sprinting contest with AMERJEET in the hands of Paul Mulrennan.
The gelded son of Blue Point made a winning start in handicaps at Lingfield on the Polytrack over this trip last month and appeared to do so with something to spare.
He's 5lb higher in a slightly stronger contest here, but that form has been advertised by the second and third scoring since, and he looks the one to follow in this eight-runner affair.
17:20 Goodwood - Duke Of Verona @ 9/2
The finale at Goodwood is a stayers' contest over two miles and could be a good chance for DUKE OF VERONA to land his first win since moving to Harry Eustace.
He was third at Sandown (1m6f, good to soft) in June and has enjoyed a short break since.
That was his second placed effort in three for this handler and, placed in a Cesarewitch Trial over 2m2f at Newmarket in 2022, a step up in trip could be ideal in a race where C&D winner Tenerife Sunshine is likely to start favourite but he has been having an up and down season.
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the quoted prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £531 for your total £7.50 stake.
