Lucky 15 Tips: Monbeg Park can take step up in class in his stride

With four British and Irish meetings taking place across Sunday, there's plenty of racing that caters for all tastes.

For my Lucky 15 tips, I've focused on the card at Limerick, picking out four to follow - including a recent Listed handicap winner in the feature race.

14:18 Limerick - Ellaat @ 6/1

Formerly trained by Charles Byrnes, ELLAAT beat an Ian O'Connor-trained runner in a two-mile claiming hurdle at Clonmel last month, but the selection is now with O'Connor and the nine-year-old can make a winning start for the yard.

Most of his recent best efforts have come in testing conditions, but he has plenty of form on good ground and he's 2lb lower than when third in a Punchestown handicap at the end of 2023.

14:53 Limerick - Cappa Hill @ 8/1

He failed to make much of an impact in point-to-points, but CAPPA HILL has shown enough in two starts under rules to suggest he may well be up to taking this 2m3f maiden hurdle in the hands of Darragh O'Keeffe.

He plugged on to finish fourth behind Pure Steel at Cork over the extended 2m in January and was beaten only around three lengths at Thurles when last seen. He won't have to improve much on that to figure here and the step up in trip should suit.

16:03 Limerick - Monbeg Park @ 6/5

The feature race on the card is the Grade 3 novice chase run over the extended three miles and MONBEG PARK won't find a better chance to win in graded company.

An ultra-consistent eight-year-old son of Walk In The Park, he was well-backed when landing a Listed handicap chase over the extended 2m5f at Leopardstown at the beginning of the month, losing ground mid-race only to fight back and win comfortably.

If he can see out the extra few furlongs here, he's going to take a lot of beating.

17:13 Limerick - Carrigmoorna Beech @ 7/4

Declan Queally is having a fine season and when money comes for one of his, you stand up and take note.

That was the case for CARRIGMOORNA BEECH, who was sent off a 7/4 shot for her debut at Gowran Park in January when bolting up by 12 lengths.

The Blue Bresil filly was held up and brought wide throughout, ridden like the best horse in the race, and she proved that was the case when forging clear up the straight.

The form of that race is questionable and she will have to prove she can handle quicker ground, but she looks like an exciting prospect.

The odds are likely to fluctuate between time of publication and the off - but a 50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections at the quoted prices, assuming all four won, would return around £479 for a total £7.50 stake.
