There are three meetings across the UK and Ireland on Sunday, with jumps racing dominating the action from Naas, Fontwell and Hereford.

The Grade 2 National Spirit Hurdle is the feature at Fontwell, while in Ireland the Michael Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle brings Grade 3 action. We've put together a Lucky15 selection featuring action from all three venues.

Lucky 15 Tips - Sunday, February 23

  • 14:10 Hereford - Sullivan Bay @ 11/8
  • 14:50 Naas - Fleur In The Park @ 7/2
  • 15:00 Fontwell - Nemean Lion @ 6/4
  • 16:00 Fontwell - Bobalot @ 3/1

14:10 Hereford - Sullivan Bay @ 11/8

SULLIVAN BAY showed very little in his time with Henrietta Knight over hurdles but his stint with Jim & Suzi Best has been promising.

He has figures of 1333 over staying trips on the all-weather, scoring at Chelmsford in October when sent off favourite on stable bow, while he also ran second at Plumpton (2m4½f, good to soft) over hurdles in December in a run sandwiched amongst those synthetic starts.

He has twice run well since and he was unfortunate in that hurdles start to bump into a rival coming off a near miss. The Australia gelding may go one better now back over timber in this Conditional Jockeys' Novices' Handicap.

14:50 Naas - Fleur In The Park @ 7/2

This Grade 3 contest at Naas is over 2m4f and features runners from both Gordon Elliott (Jacob's Ladder) and Willie Mullins (Joystick), but neither could be labelled as stars despite coming from those respected sources.

Instead, FLEUR IN THE PARK can oblige for trainer Andrew Slattery. He was twice placed behind The Yellow Clay in better races than this at Navan before Christmas and ran well again from the front on St Stephen's Day in a Grade 2 down at Limerick.

He could be hard to peg back in front this time and, on ratings, this looks a fine opportunity for him.

15:00 Fontwell - Nemean Lion @ 6/4

The Grade 2 National Spirit Hurdle is the Fontwell feature race and it's a rematch between NEMEAN LION, Salver and Blueking D'oroux after they finished first, second and third last month at Windsor in a Conditions contest over 2m4f during the Berkshire Winter Million meeting.

Pretty much all went to plan for Salver that afternoon and he had a good lead turning in, but the Gary & Josh Moore inmate was overhauled by Kerry Lee's Nemean Lion late on.

They were racing off level weights in that contest and, while the runner-up gets 3lb from the selection now, Richard Patrick's partner ultimately appeared to prevail with a degree of comfort and Blueking D'oroux was well held behind the pair.

Nemean Lion is having a fine season and while he doesn't quite cut it in Grade 1 company, this is the ideal opening for him.

16:00 Fontwell - Bobalot @ 3/1

Nearly two-and-three-quarter miles is the journey ahead of the 10 runners in this handicap hurdle around Fontwell and it can go to BOBALOT for trainer Laura Horsfall.

The eight-year-old is a dual winner over hurdles in his 15 starts, most recently scoring for trainer Ben Clarke over this course and distance 13 months ago.

He moved to this trainer over the summer and was having his first run in 253 days when second at Chepstow over 2m3½f on soft ground a fortnight ago, conceding a chunk of weight to the winner, who was also back from a break and taking advantage of a basement mark.

Bobalot is now on the same rating as when scoring here last year and he finds himself in a race where plenty have questions to answer.
