Lucky 15 generic

There are three race meetings taking place on Sunday across Britain and Ireland with some high-quality jumps fare to savour.

Fairyhouse serves up Grade 1 action via the Hatton's Grace Hurdle and the Drinmore Novice Chase, while further National Hunt action comes from Carlisle and Leicester. We have put together a Lucky15 selection for Sunday's action, with runners from all three courses.

Lucky 15 Tips - Sunday, December 1

  • 13:05 Fairyhouse - Klarc Kent @ 7/1
  • 13:35 Fairyhouse - Romeo Coolio @ 4/5
  • 14:50 Leicester - Libor Lad @ 8/1
  • 15:00 Carlisle - Don Brocco @ 13/2

13:05 Fairyhouse - Klarc Kent @ 7/1

Willie Mullins and Paul Townend team up for a crack at the Listed Porterstown Handicap Chase with KLARC KENT and a super performance could be incoming.

This eight-year-old has yet to win after six starts over fences, but notice of his ability was served when third behind Senior Chief and Duffle Coat at Punchestown (2m7f, heavy) back in February, with that duo advertising the form handsomely since.

Klarc Kent was second in the Ladies National here over shorter on his next start and then fourth in the Scottish National at Ayr in April, while a busy spring may have told when he was pulled up at Punchestown on his final start.

He's 2lb lower than for his Ayr run on this seasonal bow and looks to be well placed by the champion trainer.

This is an Extra Place Race, with Betfred offering 5 places instead of 4 at 1/5 the odds for all each-way bets.

13:05 Fairyhouse - Winner Klarc Kent

13:35 Fairyhouse - Romeo Coolio @ 4/5

Some of the graded contests on the Fairyhouse are tough enough to call, but ROMEO COOLIO should give Gordon Elliott a fifth win in the Royal Bond Novice Hurdle in the last eight years.

He was second in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham in March and made a pleasing start over timber when scoring at Down Royal's big November meeting.

He was entitled to win that and will have more on his plate now, but Jack Kennedy prefers him to unbeaten Navan Grade 3 hurdles scorer Bleu De Vassy and that should be telling.

13:35 Fairyhouse - Winner Romeo Coolio

14:50 Leicester - Libor Lad @ 8/1

Lunar Ocean is the likely favourite for the Belvoir Cricket & Countryside Trust Novices' Handicap Chase at Leicester, but his recent runner-up finishes at Market Rasen and Huntingdon leave him with some questions to answer about his attitude in a finish.

The long-absent Gavroche D'allier is one to note for new trainer Olly Murphy and French import Jumper Madrik similar for Charlie Longsdon, but LIBOR LAD may be the one for this assignment.

He showed a good aptitude for chasing when second at Stratford (2m3½f, soft) on his introduction in early October.

Something may have been ailing him at Bangor-on-Dee soon after and going right-handed for the first time over fences is a positive, while the move back up in trip also sets up well.

14:50 Leicester - Winner Libor Lad

15:00 Carlisle - Don Brocco @ 13/2

DON BROCCO ran well in defeat on several occasions last season as a chaser and, despite showing a 0-10 record over fences, he makes appeal now.

He is a course winner at Carlisle over hurdles and was not disgraced in a Class 2 event over fences at this venue over 3m½f on heavy ground in April.

He is rated 7lb lower now, taking his chance off a career-low mark and had a nice chance to blow off any cobwebs with a hurdles spin here 12 days ago.

This is an Extra Place Race, with Betfred offering 4 places instead of 3 at 1/5 the odds for all each-way bets.

15:00 Carlisle - Winner Don Brocco

Odds correct at time of publishing.
