Lucky 15 Tips: Put your faith in Simon – simple!

Lots of fabulous racing on Saturday, as per, and for our Lucky 15 tips I'm happy to pop over to Dunstall Park Wolverhampton, and their eight-race evening card on the Tapeta.

16:40 - Yeoman @ 2/1

18:15 - Political Power @ 5/1

Three-year-old novices now, and a selection running in the AMO Racing silks.

Political Power is housed at Charlie Clover's in Newmarket, having been with both Adrian Murray in Ireland (four runs - nothing to write home about) and fairly briefly, George Boughey at HQ (didn't race). The great Rossa Ryan has the riding assignment today - big plus.

Only one UK start - on January 31, for new connections, and a fine effort finishing a close second at Newcastle in a maiden at this 7f trip. That was a solid run in a field of eight and it's high time this one really began his career over here in earnest, starting on Saturday.

18:45 - Overnight Oats @ 7/4

This one won off a mark of 62 at Southwell nine days ago and bids to follow-up under a 6lb penalty.

It was a very comfortable success, but the additional burden is offset by the engagement of 7lb claimer Warren Fentiman. Also it was a Class 5 that the five-year-old gelding took last time, and this is the basement level of Class 6.

James Owen at HQ trains, and the horse has won here before as recently as December last year. I think young Warren is well worth his claim and that puts Overnight Oats in with every chance of another win on a track he obviously handles well.

19:15 - Headshot @ 5/6

The mighty Hollie Doyle rides this seven-year-old gelding, fresh from winning on him here in a similar contest 11 days ago.

As this is another classified stakes race (for horses rated 0-50) the conditions are that the majority of the field carry the same weight (9st 9lb), but the selection (now rated 52) carries 2lb more, on 9st 11lb.

That's still no great detriment in relative terms and on official marks Headshot is still quite nicely treated. Tony Carroll trains (22% strike rate in the last fortnight), and the prospect of a follow-up success is bright.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
