Lucky 15 Tips: Compensation time for Sea The Stars gelding

There's a nine-race card at Wolverhampton for Saturday afternoon/early evening, and that's a perfect vehicle for our Lucky 15 tips.

16:30 - Sundiata Keita @ 1/1

Two quietly progressive runs so far for this Richard Fahey-trained two-year-old colt.

He very nearly prevailed two weeks ago at this 6f trip at Newcastle, and any repetition will surely see him go mighty close this afternoon. Top yard looks to have found a good opportunity for Sundiata Keita.

17:30 - Edge Of The Unknown @ 11/10

Simple enough conundrum - is this penalised novice winner good enough to defy that penalty?

Let's weigh the evidence. Edge Of The Unknown hails from a top yard  (George Boughey). His win was achieved on Newcastle's Tapeta surface - same as that encountered here at Wolverhampton.

Billy Loughnane was booked last time - now it's Danny Muscott. Good barometer as to the regard connections have for the horse. They'll be improvement to come no doubt, and yes, I believe a follow-up strike is most certainly 'on.'

19:00 - Alzahir @ 13/8

This four-year-old Sea The Stars gelding has been operating at loftier handicap levels as well as today's Class 4, Jennie Candlish trains, and it's jockey George Wood's only booked ride on the card.

Alzahir is another to have benefitted from Billy Loughnane in the plate last time, and the horse endured a very troubled, unlucky passage up the home straight in a Class 2 at Wolverhampton.

It's compensation-time, and rates my nap of the meeting.

20:30 - Solanna @ 10/3

Danny Muscott once again - this time aboard a five-year-old gelding housed with John Butler at HQ.

Danny's gone close on him a few times, no more so than last time out at Lingers off this mark of 60, beaten just over a length. Right now it's a question of when and not if at this level for Solanna, in my view, and what better time than Saturday night.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
