Lucky 15 Tips: Johnston colt can stretch out in style

In a companion piece I've checked out the live ITV races from Sandown and Wincanton - so for Saturday's Lucky 15 tips on January 4, I'm happy to head to Southwell's all-weather Tapeta surface.
There's a cracking nine-race card, which gets underway at 14:47. Enjoy.
Lucky 15 Tips - Saturday, January 5
Southwell
14:47 - Mdawi @ 6/4
Four three-year-olds line up, racing over 1m 3f.
The selection is Mdawi, from the Middleham Moor yard of Charlie Johnston. Two runs so far, both at a mile, and showing decent enough progress. Typically for one from this stable he now steps up in trip, but given his sire is Wootton Bassett, who never ventured further than eight furlongs, it's got to sow a slight seed of doubt.
However - he's tended to be right in the thick of it at the business end so far, and the additional yardage might enable Mdawi to register a first success. Derby-winning jock Richard Kingscote rides.
15:22 - Shaka @ 7/1
An experienced five-year-old handicapper now in the care of Ivan Furtado at Wiseton, based around 30 miles away.
Shaka is habitually ridden by 7lb claimer Elle May Croot, and the pair have of late developed an unfortunate habit of finding trouble late in the race. The Mayson gelding goes well here, and might just be attractively handicapped IF the duo can plot a clear path in the closing stages.
In 19 spins under rules, victory number one is still being patiently sought - but five placed efforts confirms the ability shown, and if those cards just fall a little more kindly ...
16:03 - Monsieur Fantaisie @ 7/2
A tough, hardy seven-year-old gelding now, trained in North Yorkshire by former top jump jockey Peter Niven.
Monsieur Fantaisie gets the superb Jo Mason on top, and the pair scored here in March in a similar event (same trip/grade), off a mark of 50. Exactly the same rating today, and the horse is in form - nine days ago he was beaten just half-a-length at Wolves and he looks primed and ready to strike.
17:05 - Moon Over Miami @ 11/4
Piece of cake this racing game. Two runs so far, and two wins, for Ralph Beckett's late-blooming four-year-old Sea The Moon gelding.
Moon Over Miami makes his handicap debut off a fairly lofty mark of 91 for one so inexperienced, after wins in maiden and novice company. In those turf successes he's been doing his best work at the finish, so shouldn't fail for lack of stamina on his all-weather bow.
Hector Crouch, very busy of late and riding winners for fun, has the riding assignment and though he must defy 9st 13lb he's not quite topweight; and in any event, has probably earned it.
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £410 for your total £7.50 stake.
