Lucky 15 Tips: Top Irish trainers in opposition at Fairyhouse

Hi - one winner at Musselburgh yesterday, and one that lost out by a head. We've certainly had plenty of scorers this week, and approach Saturday with bags of hope. Cracking winter-game fare, with the TV contests taken care of in my accompanying ITV live races piece. Newbury and Newcastle, and the likes of the Fighting Fifth hurdle, are massively in focus.
For Saturday's Lucky 15 piece, let's go to Fairyhouse, where ironically my learned friend and colleague Owen is visiting, after having had the thrill of a lifetime visiting both the Elliott and Mullins yards on Friday. His naps, plus Road to Cheltenham pieces and ante-post fancies, are always required reading. The action in County Meath kicks in at 11:35.
Lucky 15 Tips - Saturday, November 30
Fairyhouse
13:20 - Ballygunner Castle @ 7/4
Five-year-old Soldier Of Fortune gelding makes his hurdling debut in what looks a warm contest.
Two bumper wins under his belt, and hails from the County Carlow base of one WP Mullins. Ballygunner Castle could be anything at this stage and we'll know a lot more today, but he's sure to have been expertly schooled and has Paul Townend doing the steering.
Gorgeous maiden hurdle, with the likes of Gordon Elliott and Henry De Bromhead in opposition - and a stack more.
13:55 - Bottler'secret @ 10/3
Gavin Cromwell, another top name, looks after this four-year-old gelding who from the get-go has been highly, and successfully, tried indeed.
In February of this year he made his hurdling debut in a Grade 3 and dotted up. A G2 win, and a narrow G1 loss, followed. On seasonal reappearance five weeks ago at Cheltenham no less he ran a blinder to be third, beaten less than 2l, and should be cherry-ripe for this.
Bottler'secret concedes weight all round but deserves to. Kala Conti is arguably best treated but I wouldn't swop.
14:30 Disco Dancer @ 13/2
This five-year-old mare has had a busy 2024, and after running well at Gowran three weeks ago over 2m, not quite getting there, she's stepped back up to just over two-and-a-half-miles today.
Disco Dancer still has plenty of time to improve and mature, and could hardly be at a better address (G Elliott). Fascinating little heat.
15:40 - Ma Jacks Hill @ 11/10
Another Elliott inmate, one of two entered by the trainer. Harry Swan, son of the mighty Charlie, is in the plate.
Ma Jacks Hill has to turn away a Willie/Patrick Mullins inmate, his stablemate, plus nine others if he's to succeed here. Two PTP runs, a fall and a win, and now he makes his debut under rules in this bumper.
Harry claims a handy 3lb, and the horse runs in the famous Gigginstown livery of Tiger Roll and literally countless other gifted animals. Fair chunk of guesswork involved here but I'd be surprised if he wasn't very, very competitive. Wonder how many novice hurdles and more this lot will go on to win?
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £260 for your total £7.50 stake.
