It’s another busy Saturday of racing as the Christmas action continues with five meetings domestically as well as two Irish meetings from Leopardstown and Limerick. The best of the action comes from Leopardstown where we have a cracking renewal of the Savills Chase at 14:35.

I've picked out three selections for my Lucky 15 Tips on Saturday afternoon including a couple of value plays in the Leopardstown handicaps.

12:20 Leopardstown - Sermandzarak @ 2/1

There’s been plenty to like about the start of SERMANDZARAK’s career and he could take some stopping in Leopardstown’s opener.

He made a winning start to his career when well backed for a Punchestown bumper on his debut and took his form to a new level when landing the Goffs Defender Bumper second time out, a race that often works out well given the prize money on offer in that heat.

His return was also full of promise, pulling clear with a nice sort, and the third, who was five lengths behind, has done plenty for the form by winning again since. He ought to come on for that first run of the season and there’s a chance he’ll improve for the quicker ground this time.

12:50 Leopardstown - His Nibs @ 9/2

HIS NIBS hasn’t been threatening in maiden hurdle company but he showed plenty of promise in bumpers last season and there’s a good chance he’ll be progressing now.

The son of Famous Name ought to relish a return to further here on handicap debut and the assessor may have let him in lightly with an opening mark of 109 given what he achieved in bumpers.

14:35 Leopardstown - Galopin Des Champs @ 10/11

There’s an argument to say that GALOPIN DES CHAMPS should be odds on for his bid for back-to-back renewals of the Savills Chase.

He’s taking the same route as last year when he was beaten in the John Durkan before an absolute romp in this contest when beating Gerri Colombe by 23 lengths in one of the best performances of his career and that form was boosted several times subsequently.

His return in the John Durkan is worth marking up given that he almost certainly doesn’t want an extended 2m3f trip at this stage in his career and he was only tapped for toe in the closing stages of that contest.

Expect him to come on for that run and reverse form with Fact To File. He only just got the better of Spillane’s Tower at Punchestown and that rival didn’t really do anything for the form when struggling in the King George on Boxing Day.

He’s 8lb clear on official ratings and he sets a very clear standard on his best performances from last season.
