Lucky 15 Tips: Aim for the stars with Rossa at Wolves

Stacks of marvellous racing to entertain us on Saturday, January 25. I've previewed in a companion piece the ITV fare from Cheltenham and Doncaster, so by way of a contrast let's visit Wolverhampton, and their late afternoon/evening fixture on the Tapeta, for our Lucky 15 tips.
The great Rossa Ryan is among the jocks involved at Dunstall Park and their nine-race jamboree kicks in at 16:15.
Lucky 15 Tips - Saturday, January 25
Wolverhampton
16:50 - Union Island @ 5/4
Charlie Johnston's in decent nick at the minute and he fields here a beaten favourite last time out, looking to regain the winning thread.
Union Island won off 57 at Southwell in late-December and has since been runner-up twice, off 62, the last of which was by just half a length under today's pilot Sean D Bowen.
The four-year-old gelding seems to be thriving with his racing and looks likely over this slightly longer trip to run to his mark and very possibly take it in his stride.
17:50 - Michaela's Boy @ 7/2
The wonderful Hollie Doyle gets the call here for a five-year-old Ribchester gelding handled by sprint king Robert Cowell.
Luke Morris steered this one to a narrow success last time at Lingfield off 86, and Hollie must try to engineer a repeat off 90. He's looking for a hat-trick in fact after scraping home the time before that at Wolves off a mark of 85 and at least with these marginal gains the assessor can't in all fairness be too harsh with his/her penalties!
Michaela's Boy has five wins from 27 starts and four of those have been on the sand. Time for another methinks.
19:20 - Global Effort @ 11/2
The McEntee family now - trainer Phil and daughter Grace - combine with a five-year-old Gleneagles gelding who looks handicapped to go very close.
Global Effort has only troubled the judge twice in a 34-race career but in three spins in early 2025 has been third on each occasion and seems sure to run to close to his mark of 46.
He began handicap life in May 2023 on a mark of 69, and what we all wouldn't give for a brief reprise of that kind of expected return! Nice opportunity in this classified stakes where he's treated neither particularly well or otherwise - these are modest performers but his claims are more persuasive than most.
19.50 - Saturnalia @ 3/1
Wouldn't feel right if I didn't row in with a Rossa Ryan conveyance; teaming up here with Upper Lambourn trainer Stan Moore.
Saturnalia is a five-year-old Holy Roman Emperor gelding out of a Cadeaux Genereux mare. Last time at Kempton 17 days ago over a mile he was only beaten a length, running on, and has perhaps surprisingly been dropped a pound by the kindly handicapper.
He's in form and the booking of Rossa, on board once before way back in March 2023, is very significant in my book. Gets an extra half-furlong to get suitably organised and come late to take this.
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £330 for your total £7.50 stake.
