15:50 - The Fingal Raven @ 11/8

Dad/daughter combo in tandem - Jamie and Saffie Osborne.

The two-year-old Mehmas colt The Fingal Raven has a far from easy task conceding a penalty to his rivals, but he was impressive in winning at Kempton and had shaped well on his two initial starts too, including in a very hot Goodwood maiden.

A worthy raider from Upper Lambourn.

16:25 - One More @ 13/8

Funnily enough, this one ties in with The Fingal Raven's form because he was second to the Osborne charge at Kempton.

One More was making his debut though, and the son of No Nay Never is likely to improve plenty for that initial experience. One of racing's many 'old firms' appear here - trainer Richard Hannon and jockey Ryan Moore.

The brilliant multiple-champ has ridden many winners for the Hannon yard over the years and this could very well be another - and in the famous colours of noted owner Mrs Fitri Hay.

17:00 - Persuasion @ 12/1

I tipped this one up at Haydock 15 days ago and the seven-year-old Acclamation gelding did us proud.

Persuasion represents the Barrons, another great racing family who train in North Yorkshire. This doesn't look one of the warmest Class 3 handicaps to me and I think connections have chosen well in their bid to defy a 3lb penalty for that recent success.

Oisin Orr rides, and the horse has gone well here before.

17:35 - Kodi Lion @ 5/1

James Doyle rides this three-year-old Kodi Bear gelding for trainer Charlie Fellowes.

Kodi Lion is coming along beautifully and has improved at least 10lb this campaign, winning a couple of races along the way including one at Ascot.

In this grade and off a pound lower he very nearly secured a valuable Racing League prize at Southwell, and returns to the turf in fine fettle. Huge chance, with the Doyler so often amongst the winners.
