Lucky 15 Tips: Marco’s juvenile can rule

So - we're nearly there. No midweek hump to come because it's Christmas instead! In the meantime there's lots of top sport to enjoy, including racing on Saturday, December 21. For our Lucky 15 tips let's journey to Wolverhampton for a nine-race spectacular under the Dunstall Park lights, which kicks in at 16:05.
Fair to say that Rossa Ryan is the star jock on show, and the field sizes are very respectable, ensuring competitive and entertaining racing; and may I thank everyone for their company regarding the column in 2024. It's appreciated greatly, and I wish you all a very merry, happy and peaceful Christmas. Take care.

Lucky 15 Tips - Saturday, December 21
Wolverhampton
16:40 - Ruling Master @ 5/2
A two-year-old Holy Roman Emperor colt, in the capable hands of trainer Marco Botti. Jack Mitchell rides.
This will be career start number five, and the first in nursery company. Ruling Master was a close-up second over slightly further at Chelmsford nine days ago and has the ability and pedigree to get involved.
18:45 - What's In The Bag @ 11/4
Five-year-old Dark Angel gelding, trained by Sean Woods at HQ, with Sean Levey up top.
What's In The Bag joined Woods in October, and has had three very respectable runs for new connections. Off 72, this is 3lb below his last winning mark, and last time under this jockey at Lingers 18 days ago he was gaining at the finish.
In-form, he can go one better tonight.
19:45 - Forever Proud @ 10/3
Newmarket raider James Owen brings his four-year-old Sioux Nation filly Forever Proud to Dunstall Park just two days after winning in the grade at Chelmsford.
To prevail she must defy a new handicap mark of 50, up from 46, but claimer Sean D Bowen takes off a useful 3lb which will help enormously. She's won three times from 28 starts and though facing a tough test she's in good order and I love connections' confidence in turning out again so quickly.
20:15 - Harry The Haggler @ 6/1
Any mention of 'Haggler' brings to mind amazing bouts from the golden age of 1980s middleweights - but this one is a four-year-old Gleneagles gelding returning from a break of some 138 days.
Harry The Haggler is trained by David Loughnane in Shropshire, and will be ridden by Rossa Ryan. The horse has literally just joined the yard from Stuart Williams, and must presumably have had his issues.
I'm heartened though by the booking of the brilliant Ryan, and if managing to recapture the kind of form shown at this time last year would certainly be bang there.
This trainer is noted for freshening up horses who have perhaps become a little becalmed, or are recovering from bumps and bruises here and there, and with Rossa on board you can guarantee a five-star showing from the saddle.
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £450 for your total £7.50 stake.
