Lucky 15 Tips: Michael secures ace claimer Joe – sky’s the limit

Tremendous fare on Saturday in the world of horse racing, as ever. We've got the ITV contests boxed off in a companion piece, so how about we leave behind the testing ground likely to prevail at the turf meetings and head to sunny (if only) Polytrack action at Chelmsford?
A NINE-race card kicks in at 16:10, there's plenty of runners, and ultra-competitive heats.
Lucky 15 Tips - Saturday, October 12
Chelmsford
16:10 - Antonin Dvorak @ 4/6
This two-year-old colt makes the trip down south from Karl Burke's stronghold on Middleham Moor.
Antonin Dvorak has run in two Musselburgh maidens, winning the second very comfortably a month ago by 4l. He carries a little extra in the saddle for that but looks progressive. I'm thinking that his shrewd yard travel with plenty of hope, and that his third career start can also yield another victory.
16:45 - Lady Wingalong @ 4/1
Trainer David Evans has booked a 5lb claimer for his experienced Mastercraftsman mare.
Her latest win was off 54 in July (same trip/grade), and races off 60 today. But last time 12 days ago at Wolves she was beaten only threequarters of a length off 59, so factoring in her rider's claim I'm putting Lady Wingalong bang in the mix for this one.
Jordan Williams has the riding assignment and he appears to perform under both codes. Let's hope his flat-racing skills are well-tuned on Saturday!
17:20 - King Of Charm @ 10/1
Darragh Keenan rides this decent three-year-old gelding for trainer Martin Dunne.
Three weeks ago he was beaten only half-a-length at HQ over 7f, and he gets a mile today. Having won at the trip previously at Sandown (stiff finish), we can say with some confidence that he stays perfectly well.
He runs off 80 again, same as Newmarket, and is in form. The trainer/jockey combo aren't the most prolific but King Of Charm's opportunity here to get involved looks undeniable.
17:50 - Cloud Free @ 5/1
A modest Class 6 handicap, but we're with a Michael Bell-trained Sea The Stars three-year-old dropping down a rung from last time.
The gelding was a respectable fourth last time at Kempton at the trip but in a Class 5. He's been dropped 2lb in the handicap, and his connections have secured the services of ace claimer Joe Leavy, who reduces the burden by a further 3lb.
It's about three weeks since Kempton, and that was after a break of 52 days. He should strip fitter now, and I've a feeling he's swimming in more appropriate waters. Great chance.
I'm playing each-way, even though we're with a skinny one, because there's also some cracking value among the other selections.
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.25p each-way Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £350 for your total £7.50 stake.
