Monday’s Lucky 15 Tips: Solar Acclaim can score in Windsor mud

There is plenty of racing action across Britain and Ireland on Monday with six meetings on the schedule. Jumps fare is from Roscommon and Newton Abbot (7am inspection) while they race on the Flat at Windsor, Hamilton, Down Royal and Wolverhampton (all-weather).

Monday's Lucky 15 selections include recent Goodwood scorer Solar Acclaim bidding to take advantage of conditions underfoot at Windsor.

15:00 Hamilton – Volcanology @ 13/2

Phoenix Of Spain filly VOLCANOLOGY can score for trainer Charlie Johnston in the Bardykes Farm Nursery School Handicap over an extended mile at Hamilton.

A Brighton maiden winner over a mile in October last year, she tackled longer trips at Ripon and Ayr when she returned in midsummer but didn't appear to get home.

Her most recent start was in late July, back down at the bare mile at Ayr and she performed better to finish third.

Following a break since, she's rated 1lb lower and Joe Fanning takes over riding duties. She is unexposed at this trip and can go well back from this short break.

15:55 Windsor – Solar Acclaim @ 11/4

SOLAR ACCLAIM scored at Windsor five days ago in the hands of Faleh Bughenaim, the partnership going through the testing conditions in pleasing fashion to score in good style.

Both of the gelding's wins for previous trainer Roger Teal came with dig in the ground, including a 5f heavy-ground novice win at this venue in October last year.

He had been out of sorts in four appearances for this handler prior to winning at Goodwood but he has conditions in his favour once more and the three-year-old may not be grounded by the 5lb penalty if he is in the same mood now.

16:20 Newton Abbot - Inca De Lafayette @ 2/1

There was some doubt about the participation of my fourth element so I'm jumping ship to this Paul Nicholls horse, previewed by Alan.

16:25 Down Royal – Elliott @ 5/1

ELLIOTT is yet to win on turf in nine starts but Billy Lee's partner ran well in a handicap at this course over 5f in July, finishing fourth, and is one to note now from 6lb lower trying seven furlongs for the first time.

The Dandy Man gelding has raced exclusively at sprint distances, both on turf and all-weather, but he was most recently spotted running well over 6f at Fairyhouse when fourth in a big field.

He got to the front a shade too soon in that contest but it was a hint of possibly better to come and he's worth a crack at this longer distance under his in-form rider.
