Lucky 15 Tips: Queen Of Steel to continue her march

There is a nice mix of Sunday racing action catering for all tastes with four meetings across Britain and Ireland. The Irish Derby (16:10) headlines on the Flat from the Curragh and they are joined on the level by Ffos Las, while jumps fans can look to Cartmel and Uttoxeter, with the Midlands venue hosting their valuable Summer Cup Handicap Chase (14:00).

Below is my Lucky 15 Tips for Sunday's racing, including selections from both the Curragh and Uttoxeter as well as the other venues.

15:30 Pontefract – Mount King @ 4/1

Dual course and distance winner MOUNT KING is put forward to add to his Pontefract tally for Tim Easterby and David Allan after a luckless visit here eight days ago.

He won here off a mark of 62 in May and might well have defied this rating last week had he not encountered traffic woes.

He was towards the rear of the field and caught on the running rail and the breaks simply didn't arrive in time for him.

He can race closer to the pace and has done so to good effect in the past and his record here is a positive.

16:45 Ffos Las – Queen Of Steel @ 8/11

Fergal O'Brien's mare QUEEN OF STEEL is hard to get away from in this 2m stayers contest on the level at Ffos Las.

The daughter of Nathaniel is on a roll. She won hurdles races here over 2m4f and at Wetherby (3m) in March and has successfully diverted to the Flat with wins at Nottingham (2m, good) and Pontefract (2m1f, good) more recently.

She had to work a bit harder for the win last time, but the runner-up has franked that form with an easy win at the Yorkshire venue since. Based on that, a 4lb rise in the ratings may not be enough to prevent the five-timer across both codes.

20:15 Windsor – Freedom Bay @ 9/2

FREEDOM BAY gets the services of Tom Marquand for the CLP Summer Handicap and that can only be a positive as the rider has more Windsor winners (60) than anyone over the last five seasons.

This Muhaarar filly remains a maiden after six runs but there has been promise in appearances at Wolverhampton and Leicester over 7f/1m in her three runs this season.

She may have done too much too soon last time and if Marquand can get her settled she may have leading claims off bottom-weight in this contest.

21:00 Wolverhampton – Advertorial @ 5/2

The nightcap at Wolverhampton is a Class 6 handicap over the mile-and-a-half trip and Hollie Doyle can steer the in-form ADVERTORIAL to a second course and distance win.

The Advertise filly was back from a break and tackling this trip for the first time when she scored here in late April under Rab Havlin.

Doyle took over seven days ago but her filly was no match for the odds-on favourite as Respiro Solitario made every yard of the running in a comfortable victory.

Advertorial tracked her every move but was well held in the closing stages, although clear in second spot. A pair of cheekpieces are added now and from an unchanged mark, this three-year-old has standout claims of going a place better.
